Reading this 2 years later, still doing this for ages. Thansk for the describing my feelings.
This is how I choose to move on from WoW, I will remember the good parts all those years ago, doing LAN:s with all my previous friends from school all summer, gearing, cozy vent talks with guildmemebers in the middle of the night. Everything that made this game great is remembered in these videos.

@@sethxtekken I just feel that the zones are dead, no one is talking, no one is asking each others for help. Everyone turns to boosters or ques. When you have kids and grandkids you will feel it again, or if you are doing something creative as well. We will never quite feel the carelessness as we did when we were a kid but maybe that is a good thing.
I love this. I remember waiting outside Gnomer and making a campfire waiting for friends to show up because there wasn't anyone around to help summon. Getting sapped and ganked waiting outside instances that just would not let you in (Molten Core and Scarlet Monastary). Being eaten by everything while trying to run through the Wetlands. It really was a magical time in Azeroth. I still play and when I eventually retire, I'll go for those some of those heartier acheivements, mounts and rep grinds I can't seem to finish. Maybe start a retirement home for all of us old WoW players to congregate and take solace in the eternal youth of our toons.

Brings me back to those days. When I was young and naive. Lost, wandering the continents of a new world not realizing at the time the memories I was creating. Good times. Undead always and forever!
This music aches me as much as it warms me, like I want to relive the past but I am afraid to harm it by doing so. Especially with all the edgy min\max peeps playing now.
When I look at this I think "These orcs are nobodies, not mages or esteemed warriors, just fighters that are traveling somewhere. They have a bag of resources, and they need to find heat before the sun goes down, because they don't have any gadgets or magic to keep their lives easy. They're just regulars in a world where everyone else is special. The 'civilians' in a superhero world."
OMG THANK YOU! I've been playing WoW for almost 16 years now and Warcraft games close to 20 years. Love this franchise!
Listening to this while I work work work...

I see what you did there 😅😅😂
i wonder how music can trigger the same emotion we felt years ago.. the barrens and stranglethorn vale bgm really hit me...
Incredible nostalgia. Undead rogue and orc shaman - Darksorrow EU PvP - late nights. I played rogue with an ud mage friend - he proceeded to go on raiding - nothing which I knew much of. I rather stayed in greens, looking for trouble in stranglethorn. That little adrenaline rush when fighting PvP and the enemies call their mates - no matter - I do what I do. Of course later more friends would start playing. Another close friend of mine had about the same ambitions as myself - hardcore PvP. Although I was a casual, PvP made something spark within. At one point we were all having x3 Undead rogues at 60 to then proceed into the dark portal. Although TBC could arguably be the best expansion in terms of progression & action - you may never get back those long days & nights in vanilla especially as a kid playing with your friends - an invaluable experience, the way we synced, sometimes clashed but worked together towards getting better. Friendship, experiences, intrigues, grief, fascination, melancholy in the world of warcraft.
Beautiful, just beautiful it is almost as I was sitting at the campfire feeling the warmth of the flames in my face and the cold breeze in my back. It is as these fellow orcs have gone trough a lot in their short lifes and at this moment it does not matter where they are from or what kind of personality they have. It is as the silence and the calm sound of the water and wind in the background are forming some kind of peace and joy. It is as the silence itself forms a bond between them and putting anger and violence aside.. I think that is a reason why people (like myself) enjoy playing games or going into the nature... What they have in common is that these things don't judge you like almost every situation or people do in this part of life where you got to be someone.. If you are reading this I want to say you are worth it and you matter! No soul on this world is meant to be put here and not enjoy life. It is only 1 time that you are here so don't be someone that somebody else is expecting you to be.. Like it was carved into stone in ancient Greece my message is: become who you are

One of my fondest memory of this game was when my friends decided to to lure the dragon (Teremus the Devourer from the blasted lands) to Stormwind in vanilla. My friend the hunter lured it all the way and I tanked it with my warrior in the city towards the king, all while our priest friend healed us. People went totally nuts and the npc's were attacking it like crazy. Hilarious.

People here can't recognize that progression is required for something to live on. If WoW didn't change, it would probably have stopped existing. Thankfully we now have WoW Classic and personally as someone who played since release, they are doing a good job with Season of Discovery and hardcore mode, really adds back a sense of wonder and excitement.

This video and its music encompasses what the Warcraft feel used to be about, I really do miss it.
Can you remember the first time you ventured beyond the Valley of Trials? Azeroth just opened up. There was so much to explore. The tinking of my pick as I mined my first node of ore still rings in my ears. So many hours spent playing that game. Such an adventure? This music really takes me back to running through The Barrens completing those early quests.

It's a cool mix; I like that you include the ambient samples in there, too. But, if (IMO) you want people to pay for your content, you have to at least include a timestamped playlist. I also think the ambience sounds are drowning out the soundtrack. Would love to hear it with a bit more relative volume toward the WoW soundtrack.
Welcome to Azeroth, traveller. Please, stay a while and have fun
Oh man. The memories... I was way into WOW so many years ago. I eventually stopped because they changed the leveling system too much after Cataclysm and the game was rather all consuming, I guess you could say.
