@@rcaxxa since august 23, 1939. The friendship lasted almost two years, when on june 22 1941 some minor incident involving 3 million german tourists ended it. Oh, and before, in 1918, the Soviets were also quite gratefull for the german train transporting Lenin to St Petersburg, and the gold that came with him. But i think the large scale use of soviet equipment came after that. I know of the 'Russenpak', the 76mm AT gun the germans captured in large numbers and used, but tanks are heavyer and harder to transport, so it sounds unlikely to me this really happened. At least not in africa.

It's a captured tank with a some german modifications. You can see the german commander's cupola has been instaled. As far as I know, they planed to use these in the planed attack on Malta (presumably to bust the fortifications) but the attack never happened and they were used in Russia. I have never heard of any in North Africa :)
