Mustang can be fun when you learn it, 109s tend to be easier because off the bat you get great climbrate you would necessarily have in real life during WW2 as many of 109s run unrealistically higher boost settings than they did IRL.

In War Thunder, the best vehicle to play is whatever you like to play. When you have fun playing a vehicle, you will get better at it and the grind will be less arduous. In theory, the best way to improve skill and research is to take a straight path to whatever mid- to high- tier vehicle you want and then train with that one vehicle until the rest of the tree has been unlocked.

How do you usually deal with planes that have more altitude than you? I’m a new p-51 player and I often don’t know what do do in these situations.

The P-51 turns well at high speed, but loses lots of speed in turns. If you are attacked from above: - Dive as your attacker gets close, so that combat happens at higher speeds - Once they are within gun range, make a few decisive turns, all while diving, to make them overshoot - If you have enough energy once they're in front of you, follow them and shoot back It will take lots of practice to get a feel of just how you should turn and when. An example of this overshoot can be found at the start of my Advanced Air Combat episode.

@@Renta352 I tried practicing these in game and still didn't work for me. I mean I am bad with these planes but I do trust your tips - I even watched some of your other videos. Grinding American fighters has been the most stressful experience for me. My matches start with side climbing to 4k meters and end with my dying to a 109, Yak9, or Spitfire (or planes that have higher energy than I do.) I want to actually become good with these fighters but it seems like I never make progress no matter what new information I gather and honestly makes me want to drop the entire American aviation tree. Anyways, I'm subbing because your flight school videos were amazing and taught me some things I didn't know. Sorry for the semi-rant.

@@Renta352 Definitely, and I appreciate that. On the occasion I do happen to outsmart my opponent into wasting energy and killing them, it feels very rewarding. I was a little tilted yesterday but I’m still going to try to learn this plane. I have another question though; do you recommend using flaps during combat for P-51s and if so, in which situations (if you have a video I’ll watch it.)

@@Renta352 I didn't really enjoy US planes until I got the first p47. Then everything clicked. To this day the p47d28 is my favorite. It literally plays how it looks, a flying bullet sponge with 8 .50 cal flamethrowers

Do you have a set convergence for the guns, or nah?

Can you pls tell me how to use free look and controll my plane at once? Everyone on youtube is looking at target and doing maneuvers and i dont know how

By going into controls and setting the buttons for pitch, roll, and yaw control to keys that they can press without having to move their hands away from WASD and the mouse. I, for example, use the buttons on the side of my gaming mouse for pitch up and pitch down, A and D for roll left and roll right, and Q and E for yaw left and yaw right.

@@Renta352 Thanks i changed my settings to wsad for controlling my plane and shift for more speed.But now every time i want more speed i press W instead of Shift and then i crash xd.

@@Renta352 is there a way to make the throttle change by, say, 20% for every time you move the mouse wheel? At the moment I have my throttle control set to shift/control because of how little the mouse wheel affects it. Also amazing video

@@CoorangaCorrella Not that I know of. But you can have keyboard keys set to throttle up and throttle down while also having the mouse scroll wheel set to throttle control. Single clicks of the mouse wheel will allow precise adjustment.

I struggle to get kills with the Uni belt. Is it better than tracer?

Yes, but only 1 of the rounds have tracers on uni so it is hard to see if u hit or not. Especially early and mid war tracers on the m2s are dog water.

Saving us the 4 minute climb would be nice

Man I dont know how you do it. They look like bots. I dont know what to do anymore, cause I die first in every match without a single kill. They just kill me from space diving in my neck from nowhere

I recently got the mustang, the first few matches were terrible. no kills, 109s diving and shooting me. after I learned how to climb. I Wep the shit outta this thing and climb at 20 degree angle. I often am the highest one. just bnz everything. I got consistently 2-3 kills and 4-5 AI kills. Those earned me a lot of SL, what I would recommend Is , climb with full WEP at 15-20 degree angle. And sideclimb and situational awareness. Imo the mustangs have serious potential. You can get the hang of it after a lot of practice. Thanks O7

YES, CRAZY RIGHT? Im researching the D5 now i only have 5k remaining (thx whit my little surprise tool that helped me later cough F2G-1 cough) and the P51C10 its really good when you side climb and pick you're opponents

@@marinandrei1679 Truly said Mustangs are really gut fighters. They have the speed advantage and turning speed to out turn many fighters. Yea it has small guns but a lot of them.
