Loved the video @Zuikaku Zk9! Can't wait for the next video! The Montana-class Battleships were planned to come out after the Iowa's had been built but were cancelled in favor of the Iowa's and Essex-class Aircraft Carriers. There were supposed to be 5 Ships of the class, Montana (BB-67), Ohio (BB-68) Maine (BB-69), New Hampshire (BB-70) and Louisiana (BB-71), and they would've armed with 4 Triple Mount 16"/50 Caliber Gun turrets, 10 Twin Mount Turrets for the Newer 5"/54 Caliber Guns, 10 to 40 Bofors 40 millimeter Anti-Aircraft Guns and 56 Single Mount 20 millimeter Anti-Aircraft Guns. Though if the Kamikaze's were to be Taken into account, as USS New Jersey's Curator Ryan Zimmansky had Mentioned in a video on the Museum Ship's KZread Channel, it's most likely that not only would the Montana's had the Enclosed Citadel Style Superstructure, but also she would have had guns no smaller than 40 millimeter for 2 Reasons. 1.) The navy found that Guns smaller than 40 millimeter weren't making enough of an impact on taking down Kamikaze's. 2.) Even Though there were Twin Mounts for the 20 millimeter Anti-Aircraft Guns as an attempt to increase their Weight of Fire, the Mounts effectively shook the Gunners to the point where they would barely feel a thing after a Few minutes of firing. This fact also contributed to these mounts being an Extreme Rarity all together. So Had the Montana's been Built, it's likely that they'd have had 3"/50 Caliber Guns and 40 millimeter Anti-Aircraft Guns instead.
