The film was negatively received, with the Los Angeles Times calling it "violent, messily drawn and lifelessly dragging" and The New York Times calling it "remarkably uninvolving". Me: The hell with them! I still love this movie, and I'm still wishing for a sequel.

I tuned 50 a week ago today, and I'm just seeing this for the first time, not knowing how this slipped by me some 14 odd years ago myself.

So: Tesla, a Statue of Liberty with a SMG, Tripods made on earth, Theodore Roosevelt, earth finaly united, this...this is perfection! Why i never hear about this movie?

uh, no. bound to fuqq it up & there are only so many dave bautistas, dwayne johnsons, liam neesons, vin diesels to go around. this apparently is some kinda beefcake extravaganza. "you pitch, i'll catch"; jeezeloueeze, that's a little too "village people" for comfort. "do you hear something?" "not a thing." man, that's some blue material right there....😹😳😂

Theodore Roosevelt being an absolute badass is very fitting

I turned 65 years old this month, and as a lifetime fan of stories that... "bring out the adult in every child... while bringing out the child in every adult", ...I can comfortably say this is one of the BEST animated films I've ever watched... many times. Steampunk, alternate historical timelines, great monsters, and enough conflict without overdoing the bloodshed.

Was pleasantly surprised to see a Malaysian studio make this. As customary for my homeland, a splendid labor of love. Awesome steampunk Sci fi hybrid tech as though the Earth rebuilt after the first invasion with decades of advancement in military technology. A lot of attention to detail in mechanical design giving a Warhammer 40k like vibe.

I bought the DVD years back. And I loan it to my nephew which he never gave it back to me. And I loan other DVD movies. Which I never got back either. Either he lost them or pawn them? I don't know? But I'll never loan him no more DVD movies ever again. I wanted to show my big brother the movie as well to my brothers. But now since somebody put the full movie on KZread. Now I can tell my brothers the The KZread channel it is on. It would be great if they make a sequel to this movie. Where the Earth takes the fight to Mars. Thanks for putting this movie on KZread. Appreciate it!👍👍

I've always found it kinda funny the humans have walkers as a nod to them reverse-engineering Martain tech, but then human planes are just taking some random triplanes and slapping jet engines onto them, not even making any effort to visually link them to Martian flying craft.

Well, it could be said that the Martians only had tripod walkers during the first invasion, thinking that the tripod technology was enough and more than enough for a quick and easy victory. It could also be considered that although they knew that we had air force, they did not classify it as a potential threat. thinking that it was quite primitive in comparison and that the units could eliminate them without much problem and based on this they only had light air units to support the ground units which left the humans with little material to work with in this ambit

But there were UFOs in the first attack. UFO flight tech just seems too far out for reverse engeneering. This holds true in real life, as there are several captured UFOs where nobody knows how they work. The heat ray is much easier.

bro this movie was so good though. and the graphics were honestly solid

Vehicles are normally what I like to see in movies and the vehicles in this one are AWESOME

I remember this one, even today it's hella better than most if not all the attempted remakes/re-immagining movies and shows. I still love the omage to the original War of the World's album. I still listen to it to this day.

This is surely a great animated movie, and am thoroughly enjoying it. Love the Sopwith Camel planes attacking those futuristic machines.

I love these steampunk guns & zap zap battles!

2012? Why am I just finding this now? Thx for this! Would love to see Spriggan ova Anime, can't find it streaming anywhere... Neflix did a good job resurrecting it as a series, very well done. Even though I don't consider this anime, VERY well done!

Literally one of the best movies ever dude even was on Netflix for a time before they took it off😢 but now im thinking of the game Iron Harvest if they make a 2nd game I want it to be called Iron Harvest 2: War for the Worlds🤔💯✊🏾

Though I do like the steam punk tripods, I still would think humanity will have more of an advantage with the developed heavy tanks now with reversed engineered martian technology and engines, they can blitz the martian tripods with speed and have some armour to survive some hits, as well with support of as heat ray artillery.

Irishmen are troublemakers, Germans are arrogant, every guy is muscular as He-Man; toughest men always sport a horseshoe mustache, commander wears Hello Kitty stars, cosplay uniforms are fashion, Captain America plays the role of Teddy Roosevelt and humans constantly fire usefuless bullets against the martians... lovely. 😄

I actually like this the “after alien invasion” setting doesn’t get explored enough it makes sense for humanity to reverse engineer and copy the alien technologies.

Animated cartoons are a great extension to the graphic novel comic book the more you read you'll realize all the possible anime cartoons not made

I saw this movie years ago and now and see it again is epic again! they won not because of a "chosen one" or disease killed the enemy, they won the battle fighting. I would have loved to see this as a kid, HG Wells book gave me nightmares, but it is always welcome.

It's a masterpiece 💫 I would pay good money to watch Teddy Roosevelt kick alien butt with Mechs, Tesla coils, Maxim machineguns add some Fosgen and make it into a series ❤

I find this movie intolerant and racist. I identify as a Martian and films like this exploit the struggles of my fellow tentacled beings. Martian Lives Matter!!

I find it funny that this sequel has Nikola Tesla be the man who "unlocked the secrets of Martian technology" because a sequel from the 1890s had Thomas Edison figure out how to beat the Martians (that sequel was titled Edison's Conquest of Mars, by the way).

I had forgotten this even existed, very entertaining.

This was a good time waster! I actually enjoyed it.

This done war of the worlds so much justice, and I'm here for it.

I was in my early 20s, when this came out. Seen the in film movies n series as well! Nice to see this on KZread as well

I think it really helps if you are a fan of the original H.G; Wells novel. If you're not, not a whole lot for you here. But for those "in the know" it's a great deal of fun about a "what if" sequel to the original story. It did the two things I ask of movies. It ENTERTAINED ME and it didn't piss me off with obvious hack writing tricks or hackneyed tropes.

It is War of the Worlds, not Warhammer 40K, though to be fair the ideas behind H. G Wells' original War of the Worlds Martians did significantly influence the design of some 40K units, such as portions of the Necron range, so there are some linkages there.

A very interesting idea amidst the many updates for then modern times.

I love the idea of Theodore Roosevelt leading a United humanity against an alien invasion. Teddy was a teetotaler, though. Never touched a beer in his life.

This was an good retro-scifi sequel. I especially like the finishing touch of including covers of "Forever Autumn" from "The War of the Worlds" musical album. I've always thought steampunk was undervalued as a setting in film, but then I'm one of the weird people who actually enjoyed "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow".

I FINALLY find a comment mentioning their use of those tracks! Wasn't just the one either - they very subtly inserted refrains and leitmotifs from Jeff Wayne's musical concept album. Was pretty awesome.

This was originally supposed to be a TV series. The "movie" is still good but I wish they had done more.
