although I like both cars I think the Lexus nx is the winner here, better reliability, well built and same price as the discovery. I just think the nx looks much better as well. (I also own one)

Styling goes to the Disco. It absolutely looks gorgeous. Reliability goes to the NX.

Very thorough review, great job!! For me, the Discovery Sport looks way better, the boot is miles larger which is a huge deal for me in carrying big dogs and the 0-100 kph sealed the deal. Sure its on-road driving dynamics might not be as good as the Lexus, but that is the price you need to pay for given the larger cabin and its off-road capabilities. Personally, I don't really care about off-road, but given the looks, size and straight line speed, the Discovery Sport does it for me. My only concern and is an important one is Land Rover's reliability track record which is not great.

SierraM363 True, but I usually don't care about that. I mean unless is strictly a car that gets you from A to B as in a no thrill car, in my experience you should always go for the car you like. In this case, I just don't like the Lexus, but again as mentioned before the poor reliability track record of the Land Rover is the biggest issue here. And I don't mean just the cost in fixing the car, but let's face it everyone hates it when their car breaks down and it will put a huge dent in the entire user experience.

Alex Fu The Evoque looks better imo. On par with the NX. The Discovery Sport looks ho hum. My parents bought the NX. They were looking at the Discovery sport too but didn't like the exterior styling. They much preferred the evoque to the discovery sport but didn't like the interior room inside. The NX F-Sport especially in white is a real head turner. Very unique. Reliability and resale value were also good too.

Alex Fu True. But they bought a Highlander to carry the dogs. In this case they cared more about style and reliability than carrying capacity.

Julio Conde I recommended you to buy the Discovery the capacity sopport is 7500 punds and the lexus has not capacity to do it

when doing the speed test, the 0-60 mph for the discovery was 4.6 sec? Thats pretty impressive considering a porsche boxter S does it in 4.8s ....

Obviously, BMW x6 is not comparable to both LRD and NX. NX sport (big difference) should have been used to compare the LRD sport. And, oh, let's look at the BASE prices: NX $36K, LRD sport $64K and BWW x6 $59. Anyway, nice video but not fair comparison.

trialsted I found the materials on the Lexus to be pretty nice. I did, however, think there's a bit of button creep going on. Many of the buttons/indicators could be combined and rethought. Some of the less used buttons could be put in the infotainment system somewhere to clean up the center stack.
