Wanting to try Live2D?
Short video I made for those of you out there that might have been wanting to try Live2D and rigging but were a bit too intimidated by it.
I realised after I recorded this that I hadn't set up my mouth inputs yet in VTube studio so the tracking isn't that great lol.
Something else I wanted to include but forgot - Your models don't have to be perfect, just have fun. Make things for yourself and don't worry about what anyone else might say or think. Take your time and learn from your mistakes and over time you can see your improvements. The model in this video is my first attempt at full body rigging as well as a bunch of other things I wanted to try. There are some bugs but I had fun and I can fix them later!
The tutorials that I used the most are by:
/ @chupuko - beginner tutorial
/ @cutiedragon - lots of resources and rigging specific parts
/ @endcsline_live2d - rotations
/ @merelywufeii - Easy Beginner tutorial (I used this one for my newest model!)
Please excuse my lack of recording and thumbnail creating skill lmao

I tried it out almost 2 years ago and it was so fun! I ended up doing pngtubing bc of my laptop, but ahhh! You did so great and your models are stunning! Also sweetest encouragement ever!

Thank you so much! I had a go at png too because I was too intimidated to try live2D! I really liked the one that I made for that too, both are fun options and png has a lot more ease of changing things up too 😂
I've been doing Live2D since 2019 and even then there are always something new to learn and discover. The key is to never settle on a certain "quality", you can always improve and there are always new "trends" going on in the Live2D community that you can challenge yourself to doing. Having good understanding on art fundamentals like anatomy and basic of animation will also help you a lot in improving your work. Good luck on your Live2D journey! I totally agree! It’s great that there’s always something new to try. Starting out there are so many options to play around with too which helps motivate you to keep going and also so many creators out there to inspire you to try new things as well :D
Im a terrible artist, but love the idea and freedom live2d models give. Thank you for giving me inspiration.
very nice video. been searching live2d tutorial lately and now youtube recomend me your video. me also not ve been drawing for past 3 years, and after try to make live2d model, i kind a want to start drawing again, so i can tottaly relate to what u said. lets do our best together!
