    Put the best team on the pitch, taking into account tired legs. If Bombito is not tired, start him. Same with Cornelius. Definitely don't start Larin, David, Johnston and Eustaquio if they're tired (and should be...).

    Marsch slammed the Copa as being unprofessional. He claimed that CONCACAF teams weren’t being treated the same when it came to rule calls. He went on to say that his team wasn’t rolling on the pitch like children. Wow, shots fired! The question is, does he have an end goal for complaining or is it simply complaining. I can’t believe the Uruguayan players haven’t been suspended for going into the stands. Can you think of any other sport or league where immediate disciplinary action wouldn’t be taken? If there are no consequences CONMEBOL are allowing this to happen again and essentially taking responsibility that their security was inefficient.

    West Ham players went into the stands to protect their fans and family. We were given a game with no crowd. No suspensions as it was defensive only. So bans do happen…just not in South America…

    Conmebol will impose sanctions, but for the next matches. Because they are investigating what happened, or the reason for the brawl. The sanctions are fines, perhaps points for the team.

    It’s a shame that the ref only added 4 minutes of stoppage time against Argentina, when really there should’ve been 12 at least. But honestly, there are positives to take from that game, I think Ali Ahmed, Liam Millar and Jonathan Osorio had a huge impact coming off the bench. They provided something that Canada lacked the whole tournament, and honestly Argentina had no answers defending against them. All 3 of them can thread passes, and both Ahmed and Millar showcased the ability to dribble into central areas, which against a very compact defence was very much needed as opposed to the direct transition ability of Shaffelburg and Lareya. If the ref added the appropriate time, I believe we would have won 3-2, but it is still good for Marsch to know that he now has options when he needs to play that kind of slow-paced game that requires patient buildup play, I believe Hoilett and Kaye would also be very useful for this type of game. It is good to know we have different types of players, we don’t always need to depend on playing a North-south game every match.

    @@jgp7414 I don’t think it’s got anything to do with fans, it’s just South Americans players are used to getting with reckless tackles as long as they get the ball, and even if they don’t, they don’t get a yellow card until the second or third offence. But it was very frustrating seeing the refs always have to give make-up calls against us when we didn’t touch the opposition.

    1 million is the monthly salary of Uruguayan players or of some Canadian players in some medium-sized European club. They will only play this match out of obligation, with new players or substitutes.

    Tani and Ahmed starting are no-brainers, imo. Tani is on the verge of scoring - let him go get it. Ahmed may well assist. Make sure Bair subs in up top - give him a chance to prove something. Choiniere with Eustaquio in the middle to start makes sense, aiming to sub in both Kone and Osorio before the match is over. I'd love to get a look at De Fougerolles but I'm not convinced this is the right moment. Miller getting minutes at the back is as obvious as it gets, but it's Bombito that has looked more tired and it seems awkward to put both Cornelius and Miller out there. Not sure how the back should look.

    Why would Canada not start their top guys? And go with the 2nd goalkeeper? Does 3rd place mean nothing to them?

  • @albhandyman7366
    @albhandyman736624 күн бұрын

    Larin is too strong on the ball to bench. Even though he has not scored he can be depended on to control and touch one-time. Jonathan David, with all due respect and despite his goal, has turned over the ball too many times. He's been unsure and easily dispossessed. Oluwaseyi should join Larin up front. Ahmed should start also. Who does Ahmed replace? I'll leave that to the tacticians. I am absolutely tickled to be contemplating strategy and starting players for my national team in this kind of competition. An unthinkable subject only 10 years ago in the face of world-class opposition. 20 years ago? A circus sideshow. The days of soccer being laughable in Canada are gone. And soccer is the correct term. For those of you who have a problem with it, read a book or if you're lazy, google it.

    It's either him get benched or Jonathan David... Both guys being on the pitch together is not working. There's no way the top scorer in France league is giving out that type of performance. The major problem is that both these guys are playing like they're Messi just standing in front and trying to set up others but they're just both setting and not striking.

  • @albhandyman7366

    @@AsianVideoGamer Yup. In my opinion, Larin has the ability to shield a ball here or there under pressure. He's got that strength. David's push forward seems to always end in a turnover. Either guy subbed in at 60-65 minutes after they've stewed on the bench for a bit would be a worthwhile experiment.

    I don’t think Uruguay gives a damn about this 3rd place game. They came there to lift the cup and a total disappointment for them it’s almost like the Canadian National Hockey team playing for a Bronze ( they don’t care ) . So saying that it’s a great achievement for Canadian soccer to be in the 3rd place game at the Copa America so they’ll definitely be up for this game.
