Wankhede will always be an iconic stadium for indian cricket. But why don't we redevelop brabourne stadium into a modern one as number of cricket games in mumbai are so many. Both stadiums can easily share the game burden.

(incld: at brebourn- Sehwag'293 in INDvSL Test & 1st T20I in India IND-AUS and many more. at Wankhede CWC 2011 finals, WT20 SF and many Tests) i heard that CCI was private stadium and BCA used it on rent for their matches, when they fed up of mis-management they decid3d to build their own Stadium and thats how wankhede stedium get built. and here in this video i get to know more reasons .. "kuchh bhi karne ka lekin marathis ka ego hurt nahi karne ka". i have also heard same type of story of hosting 1987 WC, when in 83 WC Salve saab get humiliated by British cricket board, and he decided to move out WC from England and 1st time any WC hosted out side of ENG in 1987,INDIA.

Wankhede had simply asked to give breboune stadium for the friendly match. Vijay Merchant could have simply denied saying NO. But instead, he insulted Wankhede questioning Marathi people capabilities. After that rest is the history. ✌️ Give respect and take respect. Yes! Thanks for that feedback Chandrasekhar, we're planning to make more videos on hockey and football.

An undigested ego led to the waste of time, space and money which could have been used in better ways. Why only Bombay where you already have a good enough stadium? Why not do something for Marathis living allover the country? Further why only cricket or any sport for that matter? Just around this time there were Dharavis emerging, why not do something for healthcare and education and poverty?

Dude !you want to know his real statement ? Actually gothoskar sir didn't exaggerated it . He downplayed the intensity of statement. The actual statement of vijay merchant was "Tum ghati log aapna kuch nahi bana paoge;" He actually replaced that slur ghati with marathi to make it look good.
