Goddamn my jaw drops every time I see this entrance. This is something you can only imagine doing yourself. The music, the atmosphere, his attitude, .. No one will ever match this.

The UFC is worth 3.5 Billion Dollars and most of their fighter entrenches just consist of guys walking out with music playing. Why can't Dana just toss a bit more money into the bag to give the UFC theatrical entrenches like this? UFC and Pride each had/have their advantages and ups and downs, but you can't say that Japanese MMA didn't know showmanship. Their level of theatricality puts the UFC to shame.

ILLALLU Yeah, but I think anyone who really knew there stuff about MMA would know that it was more in relation to Pride than to a fake pro-wrestling event. The only people I think who would be comparing it to the WWE would be those guys who are casual MMA fans who aren't't as well versed in the histories of the fighters and the organizations as they should probably be if they call themselves MMA fans.

"The movement that led to the creation of the American and Japanese mixed martial arts scenes was rooted in two interconnected subcultures and two grappling styles, namely Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and shoot wrestling. First were the vale tudo events in Brazil, followed by the Japanese shoot-style wrestling shows." The fact that you're saying it evolved from pro-wrestling shows you don't really understand what you're talking about with MMA.

This is still by far one of the if not the BEST entrance in the history of MMA. Pride made every event so special and memorable even outside the fighting ala the entrances, interviews. The UFC is more cut and dry. Nothing magical about the UFC lol.

PRIDE FC was like the MECCA of MMA. Commercializing it like the ufc does not mean better quality. They only care about making more money. PRIDE had the spirit of fighting embedded in their name and way they did things. From their amazing theme song, fighter entrances, national anthems played at title fights, exciting open weight tournaments, the respect between fighters who actually fought to be the best, Lenne Hardt aka Pride lady, etc. The ufc knew PRIDE was the best MMA organization at the time!

I miss PRIDE. First off, they allowed kicks to the head so guys like Wanderlei could attack from a top dominant position. Second, they had open weight tournaments so that guys could really prove their medal. Above all else they did have warriors. Guys that laid it all on the line every time they went out to the ring. Wanderlei was one of those guys. Even though his career is winding down, he'll always be the a legend and the personification of PRIDE.
