Wandering the streets of Porto Alegre at Night | Rio Grande do Sul 🇧🇷
Leaving Floripa and heading to Porto Alegre, the biggest city in the south of Brazil.
I did not know what to expect arriving so I decided to head out in the evening to check it out.

There's not a very lively vibe in the RS right now too. A cyclone is causing many tragedies in the state at the moment.

Have you ever been to the North or Northeast of the country? These are regions are extremely rich and atractive in culture (especially the food!). I recommend Manaus, Recife and João Pessoa, you'll love these cities! (Warmer climates are where people are more extroverted! That's why people from the south are a little more shy too) :)
@nickmusttravel

I've been to Manaus but it was before I started my YT channel. I do intend on going back to do content and in other parts of the Northeast of Brazil too. Lots to see indeed.

@@nickmusttravel did u appreciated Manaus? Another tip is to explore the countryside of these states! A lot of things from there you don't see in capitals! :)
@nickmusttravel

@@VictorSilvax I really enjoyed Manaus a lot. I try to go out and see things that no one else sees and get content but sometimes in the countryside there is not too much to show. I personally like the countryside in Brazil but for content it is more complicated.

I disagree; the north is hardly extremely rich, it is one of the POOREST areas of Brasil The weather is sweltering hot and humid like Florida, tends to be relatively cheaper to live there ; food, restaurants and rentals There is a lot of petty crime, the worst place for violent crime is Fortaleza
I think the night view is a great way to see how the city seems. It seems like they are a huge number of drugstores in Brazil, everywhere they are I mean everywhere! Tell me why. Lol.
@nickmusttravel

Yeah too many drugstores. I don't know why that is. They seemed to be a more medicated society than the US or at least right up there with the US.

and most stay open 24 hours Yes Brasilians are the most medicated people including psych drugs, their dogs even take Zanax to calm down It's all very cheap vs the USA and lots of variety in things like pain killers OTC like Nimesulida. Some stuff is banned in the EU and the US

POOR decision roaming around POA late at night, you are asking for trouble, not very smart. You forget where you are A lot better idea would have been to go to the mall for food and safety MY best friend was MURDERED entering his apto in POA The airport at FLN is fairly new and an excellent airport, built by a Dutch company I believe. I was shocked returning after being away 1 year to see it.

WHY do you think all the GAUCHOS are moving to Florianopolis ?

If I had to choose between the two cities, I'd go with Florianopolis for sure. Floripa is safer but there is just more to do and even the surrounding areas on the island, more to do and the city is not far from Balneario Camboriu.

BC is the kind of a city where everything costs 3x as much as it should and is one huge shopping mall jammed with people and traffic. If that is your thing, go for it. I HATE cities like that I lived there in 2002 and it was a nice little quiet and cheap place to live, NOT ANYMORE
