Citrus peel and copper (old pennies in the states) help repel slugs. Can tru shallow lids with beer set around the garden, slugs are attracted to the yeast (maybe hops?) in the beer and then it kills them when they drink it. Best of luck to you, the garden is gorgeous, I have only harvested lettuce greens and radishes so far.
