I’ve lived here all my life too - it’s IMPROVED - unless someone can come up with a video from 40 years ago that we can compare it to - there was more variety before, but it was run down - I wish he walked through the Mall - that’s wasn’t there before - I spotted a family member half way through

Nice walk on a nice day. I worked in the market as a kid in the 1980s and 90s. You wouldn't of been able to walk down the High Street then with a camera it was that busy/congested. As you get older you learn to accept change but when I see half of the old market with no stalls and boarded up shops it does me sad when I think back to how it was. The trouble is, all of the retail centres are the same these days. Here's to all of the thousands of great traders who both now and in the past have worked on this great market.

I can just take one bus there the smell when you walk there enlightens my nose and it is the longest market in europe with a staggering 100 meteres in length

Where there is cobblestone the cars can pass or reserved only to those who do markets, it good to see how in London different places how the peoples live, thankyou by by Ciao.

I grew up on the market,9 years old (nearly 50 years ago now) pulling the barrow from a yard in St James street to the high street in all weathers,pie and mash in Manzes,all the old characters both traders and customers alike,it got so packed you could barely walk properly you had to shuffle along,I could waffle on for hours.

What a shame, need i say more? well yes i was born in 1944 and for the next 30 yrs lived near to the market, a proper East End Market which is now a Asian/ Caribbean market, What a shame.

Remember My favour unto thee and unto thy mother; how I strengthened thee with the holy Spirit, so that thou spakest unto mankind in the cradle as in maturity; and how I taught thee the Scripture and Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and how thou didst shape of clay as it were the likeness of a bird by My permission, and didst blow upon it and it was a bird by My permission, and thou didst heal him who was born blind and the leper by My permission; and how thou didst raise the dead by My permission; and how I restrained the Children of Israel from (harming) thee when thou camest unto them with clear proofs, and those of them who disbelieved exclaimed: This is naught else than mere magic; [5:111] And when I inspired the disciples, (saying): Believe in Me and in My messenger, they said: We believe. Give us sustenance, for Thou art the Best of Sustainers. [5:115] Allah said: Lo! I send it down for you. And whoso disbelieveth of you afterward, him surely will I punish with a punishment wherewith I have not punished any of (My) creatures. [5:116] And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah ? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then Thou knewest it. Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy Mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower of Things Hidden ? [5:117] I spake unto them only that which Thou commandedst me, (saying): Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. I was a witness of them while I dwelt among them, and when Thou tookest me Thou wast the Watcher over them. Thou art Witness over all things. [5:118] If Thou punish them, lo! they are Thy slaves, and if Thou forgive them (lo! they are Thy slaves). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, the Wise. [5:119] Allah saith: This is a day in which their truthfulness profiteth the truthful, for theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they are secure for ever, Allah taking pleasure in them and they in Him. That is the great triumph. [5:120] Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein, and He is Able to do all things. ---------------------------------------- During the supplication of Jesus, the son of Mary, peace be upon him, he said to Allah , “You are the Mighty, the Wise,” and he did not say, “You are the Forgiving, the Merciful,” because he knew that his people had deserved torment when they worshiped him and his mother instead of Allah the One, the Almighty. The Opening In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.[1:1] In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. [1:2] Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, [1:3] The Beneficent, the Merciful. [1:4] Owner of the Day of Judgment, [1:5] Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help [1:6] Show us the straight path, [1:7] The path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray. The Unity In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. [112:1] Say: He is Allah, the One! [112:2] Allah, the eternally Besought of all! [112:3] He begetteth not nor was begotten. [112:4] And there is none comparable unto Him. The Bee In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.[16:90] Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness. For evil-doers there will be no helpers. [5:73] They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of three; when there is no God save the One God. If they desist not from so saying a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve. [5:74] Will they not rather turn unto Allah and seek forgiveness of Him ? For Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. [5:75] The Messiah, son of Mary, was no other than a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) had passed away before him. And his mother was a saintly woman. And they both used to eat (earthly) food. See how We make the revelations clear for them, and see how they are turned away! [5:76] Say: Serve ye in place of Allah that which possesseth for you neither hurt nor use ? Allah it is Who is the Hearer, the Knower. ٠
