Walnut logs Side Table

In this video I make a side table from the walnut tree branches and logs.
I've always wanted to make such a piece of furniture.
The dry walnut branches are quite a hard material so I used a milling machine to process them.
I decided to reduce the weight of the table top and therefore made a box from a plywood and pasted it with cut parts of walnut branches, all this I filled with epoxy. I experimented and used a foam backing to make a relief on the bottom and sides of the table. I am convinced that after a while the wood will shift and the relief will become even clearer.
I made the leg from glued ash boards and decorated it with plugs from a piece of walnut board.
The table turned out steady, strong and not too heavy only 15 kg weight, I expected that to be more ;)

Thanks for the idea, I just retired and trying to put together a woodshop.. I believe I can build that one. I still haven't gotten the tools I need yet , probably within the next year I'll be ready for anything.. so keep the videos coming. You do wonderful work..

Hi I also found you at the bottom of the rabbit hole I'd like it when men and women think outside the box to build things many years ago I had a whole lot of painting to do and I didn't want to used a paint stick or go into a Town to have it mixed so I went into the kitchen and hook one of those things that go on the end of a mixer and use that I first tried a metal hanger and just bet it so the mixer beater whatever is what I tried and work and save me a trip to town finish up the job that night clean up made some supper got some rest and went home later that day.,, many years ago we didn't have all the nice things to use like today 😕 Take Care Keep up the

Great project! I did notice that there is a lot of potentially functional real estate inside that thing. The addition of a hidden drawer would be a really neat touch . Everyone's inner child loves secret compartments and hidden doors and drawers and that would be absolutely perfect for it.
You shop is most impressive, but what means the most is bringing the little ones in to help!

Работа шикарная! Единственное, что можно было бы доработать, чтобы верхняя крышка открывалась. И стол и шкатулка, а внутри несколько съемных полочек, которые одна на другую ставятся. Практично, для швейных принадлежностей, пуговиц и прочей мелочевки. Но и без этого, эффект потрясающий. Как будто стол сделан из цельных веток!

Получается, что б сделать такой эксклюзив, нужно иметь в столярке инструмента и оборудования на лям денег, а то и больше. Я не завидую. Просто констатирую. Это факт. А мастер молодчага 👍👍👍
not sure why this popped up for me to watch, but am I ever glad I did! I am a quilter and crafter, so I know what goes into creating anything - watching you create this masterpiece was amazing!
