My portfolio just cracked $50 million this week, I always tell people it is unbelievable. Like really, I don't believe it. Compound growth is a crazy thing. It helps that 'my mix' has outperformed VOO the market by 1.57% over the decade too. 1.57% doesn't sound like a lot, but it is a difference of nearly $200,000. I have outperformed VT (Boglehead dream) by about $545,000. Little wins add up over the years.

The key is risk analysis. The markets are and has always been unpredictable. Thus the important point is not how much one might make but what one could lose. trading and holding on speculative stocks/Crypto and even great stocks can test ones ability in the arena of our ability to control ones loss aversion bias…buy high sell low…The market is overvalued by almost all measures like the CAPE and Buffett indicator. Speculation is high with things like meme stocks (are they dead yet?), our kitty dude, Ai dreaming and all.... It is all about how much one can lose during times like these. Does that mean don't invest, of course not but one must access the risk and have a way out if the tide goes out.....I've been engaged in active trading and managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.6B'tc to a decent 24B'tc....I'm especially grateful to Francine Duguay, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

gold mining stocks never play catch up to the metals, they always lead, that's been their historical relationship (same for energy sector too, the companies digging the stuff out are always leading the commodity itself) Their relative underperformance vs gold suggest gold is due a significant pullback, most likely below 2000. In addition, the futures positioning shows commercials very bearish towards gold/silver. There is also currently lack of any insider buying in the sector. Once the shake out in gold takes place, what you want to see is a period of several weeks when gdx/gdxj keeps outperforming gold on relative basis, heave insider buying in the sector, negative media coverage and commercials winding down their bearish bets - that's when you buy. Could happen as soon as the latter part of this year.

Mt. Gox is definitely something you should have been paying attention to. That is providing some very good dips to buy.

It’s all about the narrative. The market sees lower rates as easing financial conditions which is a good thing. When in reality, lower rates means something is breaking and the FED has to cut. It all catches up just like in 1929, 2000, & 08. This time will be no different.
