Beautiful fish! Hunter, I keep hearing you say your camera isn't really showing the colors of the fish off very well on your videos. Just thought I'd suggest you get a camera like the one "Mbuna Marcus" uses on his channel. Whatever he is, or was using on his channel is much superior for showing off color on KZread IMHO. Check out his channel & see if you agree! Always enjoy viewing your videos & hearing your vast knowledge of African Cichlids. You sir have a REAL gift!

That's mainly because he is showing fish in glass tanks under good lighting. When I take videos in glass tanks, the fish look good, more like they do in person. The fish in my video are all in vats so I have to net them and take them out of the water for people to see. With my walkway lights as the only light, they don't look as good that way but gives people an idea of the species and general colors. The fish I record outside with my camera in natural sunlight look the best, really shows the true color.

What does he mean when he says there is a chip on them?

Star Sapphires start to get those different colored stars aka CHIPS as they mature. once mature typically at age 3. they will have hundreds of different colored scales all a shade of Blue.
