Nick burns said Walksnail told him it’s ok to remove the IHS on new lite one but not for the original 1s SOC. It isn’t coming removed from factory it seems, so if you remove that it would be another gram removed?

I'd say No. Not only because of the weight, but the fixed low latency of HDZero is ideal for a 65mm whoop that will likely be flown in tight spaces indoors IMO.

None of them is good enough for 1s whoop to be fair: the weight penalty on both implies low flight time and battery life. But the most annoying thing, is that the HDzero board reboots as soon as voltage drop under 2.90v: that can seem low, but when you hit something, the pids accelerate the motor, and voltage drops for a few ms , and you get a black screen. This happens on normal batteries like gnbs, it doesn't with high end ones like tattu, Nectar,...

check their website, they have it removed on all the renders, also they tinkered something in the firmware so it's safe. it works fine in my case just the vtx overheats faster when you're not flying. but the rate is kinda the same as with some small analog vtx.

I have both the 1s v2 and a 1s lite. Both direct from Caddx. The VTX’s on both are identical. Only difference is the heatsink is removed on the lite. So compared to what you have, the bigger vtx is completely gone. The smaller vtx you have is now paired with the larger camera. And the smaller camera has the same vtx but with no heatsink. Also, it’s worth noting that the smaller camera works with the caddx mounting bracket. I used the mounting bracket that came with a baby ratel 2 and the hardware and was able to attach it to this walksnail camera. Added about 0.3g but put mounting holes on the side. I need to find my spare Hdzero canopy to see if it fits that. Unfortunately, it didn’t really fit the Mobula 6 canopy as the camera is too big to sit far enough forward for the mounting holes to align. If you don’t use the mounting bracket and you have the vtx without a heatsink and don’t factor in antennas (the one that comes with the lite kit, despite being linear, is extremely heavy), Walksnail is only about 0.6g heavier than HDZero by my scale readings (although there’s some room for error there). I don’t have an Hdzero 1s kit that’s not in a build, so I based it off of Chris Rosser’s weights he reported. He reported the exact same weight for walksnail as my scale got when we weighed the same parts. So I weighed mine again but with a lighter dipole and only got 0.6g heavier than his reported weight for HDZero. Weight wise, walksnail has gotten very competitive! A

My scale reads 6.64g on the newest HDZero whoop lite VTX, Camera and MIPI cable NO wires. With the included wires HDZero weighs 7.64g and this is after I remove the RF/heat shields. Add 2.04g for the stock shields and we are at 9.68g for HDZero. Of course most will remove the stock shields on both units if you are really worried about weight so at that point both units end up within 1 gram of each other.

After removing the thermal paste(guess they pulled lid off?), stickers and connector end I wont be using it weighs 7.78g which is about 0.2g heavier then my HDZero whoop lite with VTX, MIPI, CAM and wire. Forgot to mention the new kits from Caddx are $89 vs HDZero at $99. Price wars!

Interesting comment about the Walksnail antenna quality, do you know if these are the same antennas that Caddx has been shipping with all their DJI vista kits since the polar came out? Oh geeze - my old 1s Walksnail in my Meteor75 was light enough. So - yeah - a lighter one would also be light enough. Granted, a lighter whoop would also have better vertical control - but I don't really care. It's already good enough to keep me amused during these dark cold winter months - flying around the house - keeping my FPV skills going. And besides, getting technical - the 1g saved with the new 1s vTx, it amounts to 1/52g (my M75 with batt flies at 52g) a 2% diff in weights. And saving 2% in weight, that's not gonna result in much of a noticable change to my flight characteristics.

From the very beginning the bare wires from camera to the vTX hanging out near the edge of a board was puzzling me... And eventually I started loosing video on almost every single crash. Had to reconnect the battery to get video back. Today, an hour ago after last small crash video no longer comes back. I do see OSD, and battery, so vTX works, but no camera signal. I believe I finally smashed this bare wires from camera on an edge of vTX board... Guys, please, put a little tape on it from both sides if you have thing like this! 95mm is almost 4 inches, 75mm is 3 inches

95mm is the wheelbase not the prop diameter. But I've double-checked and in fact, 95mm uses 2.5" props not 3", at least when it's a cinewhoop.

Small whoops are measured by the motor post to diagonal motor post. A 75mm whoop uses 40mm props, and a 95mm uses 2.5"props.
