We visited the town and castle of Scarlino, overlooking the Gulf of Follonica, an ancient lookout and control point for the area.
The center of Scarlino are that the territory of Scarlino was already inhabited in prehistoric times: this is evidenced by finds near the Rocca Pisana dating to the Bronze Age.
