Thank you for sharing the video. I was thinking Matagalpa was a sleepy mountainous town, quite the contrary it looks like a vibrant and bustling town. Do more videos like this one. will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Paul , brought back many memories as I was blessed to be able to go there 7 yrs in a row ( 2-4 weeks ). Love the place , the people , mostly fresh air ,lol . I just retired and hopefully next winter I will be going there and preparing for my retirement in this awesome city ! Can't wait . Matagalpa.

@@nicaraguabienesraices Hey Paul , just curious as to what housing prices are and availability in Matagalpa city ? Might be interested in a property where I can house a local family to live and look after ,I could put it in a reputable lawyers name if needed , altho the last lawyer back in 2012 tried to hold out for more money to release a copy of the deed of a property I sold . I had to send my copy down to close the deal , Be nice to have an idea of what prices are , I would also entertain buying another property on the edge of the city with at least 1/2 acre or more . thx

If we retire in Nicaragua, it will almost certainly be in Matagalpa. We can’t tolerate high temps !

The north is really nice and different to the middle or south. Do check out also Catrina area where we live its cooler than the rest since we are at higher elevations and cooler winds form Mombacho volcano. I wear a sweater am and late pm, but it all depends on your sensitivity to cooler weather

I don’t know if you knew about colonia super. It used to be a movie theater called el perla. As of perla del setemtrion I was born there in matagalpa It’s cool you did this video I wanted to see what’s new around there Thank you much

Great option. We stayed in that hotel.

Still people with face diapers on down there, to bad. that would suck in the heat. So many motorbikes. love all the brick block roads paths and open street markets.

Ok, I seem to be down to one question I can’t seem to get an answer to. We are moving to Matagalpa in March, with our three senior dogs. They are our babies and very important to us. When they pass away we want them cremated and want their ashes. My wife asked a couple vets in Matagalpa and they did not seem to know. Any idea if we can get that done ? Maybe at a regular funeral home ? Thx very much !

Can be done, at a vet, or funeral home. Hope this helps. Travel is summer months will be streesful for your dogs so try to plan travel during cooler months!

@@nicaraguabienesraices My wife and one of our daughters will be flying over a week or two before me. Should be about March 1st or so. Fly Miami to Managua and then a family member will have a van ready for them to drive the dogs to Totogalpa. The dogs can stay there with family until my wife finds a rental house. They will have lots of family around to help with everything. Thanks so much for the info. My wife was very worried because she checked with two vets and both said no cremation available that they knew of.
