Another wonderful Waffle. This week hubby and I are down and sick. Hubby tested positive for Covid on Monday and has been very sick. He got out on Paxlovid to help. Today I tested positive at the doctor's office after 2 negative home tests. Luckily my symptoms are less severe, a pretty bad sore throat, neck pain, ear pain and fatigue. But I'm thankful we're both doing ok. So today's waffle was just what I needed to put a smile on my face! Have a wonderful weekend!

Ooo-jimmy-flip & thing-a-me-jigs are the names for lots of things in our house in my senior moments 😂 Yes we have had so much rain the last few days here too but it is serposed to get better this weekend.. fingers crossed 😘👍💚

What a great birthday present, and so special that your daughter is joining you. Makes me a bit jealous, my daughter lives on the other side of the country so I can't spend near enough time with her. Feedback about the walking/dancing washing machine. Our home is built up off the ground with a crawl space underneath. The subfloor is plywood over the joists. The laundry room addition is only 2 years old; and even though the piers are on concrete, the floor is still "bouncy" underneath the heavy washer and dryer. Yes, we have used the leveling feet that came with the machines. However, when the spun cycle starts, it doesn't stay level. It sounds like a jet taking off, and it dances across the floor space. If we tried strapping it to the wall, the motion would pull off the Sheetrock. These units are quite new; and we got large capacity ones for our family of 5 at that time - one of which was a tiny premature baby. We never seemed to be caught up on his laundry or the towels. Now that we're down to 3, we only do laundry once a week on Saturdays. I'm when these units wear out, we've decided to go back to the average-sized ones. They won't be as heavy, and hopefully won't be as bouncy. If we were on a concrete slab, there wouldn't be a problem. And , yes, it does drive me crazy!

Hi Rebecca! I am so proud of myself !I have not been able to use multi players very well before. But this painting has a lot of blocking. So I found the thin plastic placer from dac and it worked great! I am so happy because I was starting to get bored with this painting.

Hi, Rebecca! Will continue the laundry discussion. Dryers are a rarity where I come. I decided that a machine that can do both is something I want when our last washing machine broke. Dryer function rarely sees the day of light but is super convenient in the winter less in summer to dry bedding to almost dry as I have little space on my apartment balcony (it is glassed in) one line and one drying rack because I then can semi fold the sheets to fit. That way the also get that nice fresh laundry smell. Also I like hanging clothes not so much putting them away so mine keep hanging until I do my next load usually until next weekend. Edit: IKEA meatballs are the best bribery to motivate hubby to go together with me and carry stuff for me 😀.

Hi Rebecca! My niece is scheduled to visit during August and I am currently planning a trade off with her: she teaches me the basics of crochet, I teach her the basics of diamond painting. I’m thinking of purchasing a set or two of paint gems to allow for a smaller canvas to introduce her to it; or a snack size round from DAC, given that starting with squares can be kind of tricky. I’m excited to learn to crochet and I’m excited to see her attempting to diamond paint - and if she’s hooked, I have extra supplies that she can take home with her to do in her free time.

All is going well I’m just taking my time :) I work full time too so I’m exhausted most of the time when I finish. I think it would help relax me though. You did see an update I was getting my draw units sorted. I can fit lots of trays and my kitting up goodies. I’ve got another draw unit for paper/card/stickers.

Hitting pause - regarding the 3d printing. Do you change filament in the middle of printing (a tray)? If so, is it a seamless transition? Do you have leftover filaments where you could make Frankenstein trays? That would be cool!

Out of curiosity, Rebecca, how do you feel about DAC’s new perforated plastic covers? I know you primarily use cover paper, but the perforated covers and your opinion would be quite interesting. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of them, as the perforation lines often land up in the middle of drills, since it’s a 10cm by 10cm grid, and the plastic being so heavy makes it way more crinkly. Also, it seems like it tends to get more air bubbles, so when I’m not in the mood to replace the cover, it makes it harder to for my tray to balance on.
