Walking from Edinburgh to Aberdour via the Forth Bridges - we know how to celebrate 15k subs :)

Getting to 15k subscribers was a big deal for me. So when we had a Friday off with nothing to do, we decided to go for a 15 mile walk to celebrate - yes we know how to party :D Our only plan was to head north as it would take us out over the Forth Bridges, but our 15 mile calculation didn't quite take us where we wanted to go - so how far did we end up walking???
Walk recorded on Friday 4th June 2021.

What wonderful content, presented by a thoroughly likable pair. I have watched this video two or three times, now. I get more enjoyment out of watching one of Steve's videos for the second or third time than watching most other videos for the first time. It's kind of like re-experiencing a favorite walking route versus a new, dull one. Sometimes you just know that you can't go wrong. I even sit through the commercials instead of skipping them, knowing it helps Steve (and sometimes Alicja) to keep traveling and to share their experiences with the world.

This was so lovely to watch as I have so many fun memories from my childhood of the two original bridges whenever I visited my Scottish grandparents in Fife (good ol' Dunfermline and inverkeithing). Hope to get back there some day. Best wishes Steve from across the channel and congrats on the milestone !

Great walk Steve that takes a big heart for the two of you to stick with it. My first time over the Forth Bridge would have been Dec. 1964 my father was a haulier and would take fish down to Joe Appleby in North Shields. The following year while at Broomlee School camp in West Linton we had a day out walking over the bridge to North Queensferry.

At 5am when noone but the farmers are awake, it was beautiful and peaceful 🥺😁 Lived right next to the new high school, the very start of the cycle path, and it was perfect in the summer 🥰 Amazing video Steve, i miss doing things like this, definitely motivated after watching this, and i'll be sure to pack ma wotsits and dreamies incase am hungry! 😉😅

Thanks for a really enjoyable video. My wife and I love the Fife area and have walked part of the Fife Coastal Path between Lower Largo and Crail. We would love to see your treatment of this which would certainly be a good watch. You might even fancy doing the chain walk near Elie! Having completed the 15 mile target on this video though I think that I would have headed for Inverkeithing station instead of continuing to Aberdour!

Great stuff Steve and those miles are very good going, weirdly enough I was watching a show a few weeks back all about the Forth bridges, was really good but sadly was saying about some men that lost their lives building it. Been to South Queensferry a few times but never North, those stairs you went up reminded me of the Wallace Monument, bit touristy but still worth a visit if you've not already done it. Thanks again fella enjoyed as always.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out North Queensferry as our boat over to Inchcolm was at 1pm. Thanks for a great video and particularly the Fife part. It brought back many happy memories of more than 50 years ago when that part of the Fife trail was just a walk over the Ferry Hills. There was an old army camp (I think near that beach you admired) where me and my pals used to have great fun playing "sojers". The shipwrecking yard at Inverkeithing broke up many famous ships in its day. Whenever we passed in the train from Cowdenbeath to Edinburgh there was usually an old liner there. My grandad lived in a small house on the Aberdour Road just up the laneway from St Bridget's and we'd walk down there a lot. Also trespassed on what was then (probably still is) part of the Earl of Moray's estate, going past what was left of the "big hoose" at Donibristle Estate and where James Stewart, 2nd Earl of Moray was killed on the beach. Alas, it's a long way from Australia and age is beginning to tell so I'm not sure if I'll ever get back there for another visit. Your videos are a great substitute. Many thanks.
