My friend took her life here in 2008. I’ve never had the courage to visit (though one day I will) but seeing this video now, the only thing going through my mind is paying rapt attention to every step and thinking ‘is this the spot where the went over’. I am glad to see the fences up.

If people wanna jump, let em jump. Don't ruin the view for others just because they want to die, it's their life anyway. Plus, there's plenty of 200 ft buildings, cliffs etc. people can jump off of, although I don't think a chain linked fence will stop anyone from climbing over.

The fences go out to the shoreline where people can walk under the bridge. They prevent anyone from jumping off the bridge and landing on a person underneath. If someone wants to commit suicide they should have the courtesy to jump off the bridge over the water.

How can they die? It's a 220 ft drop down to the water. The velocity of the fall makes you hit the water at over 100 miles per hour. It's like landing on concrete from a 21 story building. If the fall doesn't kill you all of your bones will be broken and you'll likely die from drowning. Very sad way to go.

285 ft drop to the water. It’s not soft. It’s like slamming into a wall. If the fall doesn’t kill the person they’re so maimed and the currents so strong and cold, they drown. Every single person who has lived from jumping from this bridge that has a 98% fatality rate for jumpers, said as soon as they left the railing they regretted their choice and wanted to live.

From the film 1956 It Came Beneath the Sea with Kenneth Toby.... Hey I am just saying that if a fisherman From Australia got a 25th Foot Squid Anything can happen. Or this suppose your walking, and it is a nice day, and your filming without the WIND, and you see a jumper going over what will you DO?>???? Would you film it, and place it on You Tube?? and then turn around and head to the rest room, and throw up??

I think there is. There’s a way they can do it and make it blend and not ruin the view. The chain link fence is tacky. Although someone said what if suicidal people then run into traffic. I would hate to see innocent people hurt or killed. But they need to do something.
