That's the way to do it! One of the best social/multiplayer games on PSVR2 (and VR in general) I reckon. Great even in single player too, definitely in my top 5 PSVR2 games. ⛳

Great review, I just subscribed. I just bought this game today and played a couple rounds. An easy way to get around the sensor-blocking issues is in settings choose to switch hands. Then use the opposite controller (left controller if you’re right handed and vice versa). Your other hand will naturally grab the far end of the controller and leave the sensors exposed. I did this and it felt natural and I never had a tracking issue.

I’m tempted to buy this game but I remember months ago, I play resident evil village, every time I look down to grab gun, headset can’t track. I recently had a quick go on zombie land headshot or whatever it’s called and seemed ok. Not sure if I should chance this game. Especially as Sony won’t refund if looking down at golf ball, keeps pulling me out of game.

@@grahamkelly8662 I don't lose head tracking altogether when looking down, but I do find it can get a little wobbly. I find if you have a large clear pattern on the floor (like those colourful puzzle mats) then tracking works well, but if the floor is mostly samey, then yeah, head tracking can be an issue. If you're finding looking down gives issues, you'll find it to be an issue in Walkabout. I'd suggest trying a few things to fix the issue in RE8 first, and if it's working well there, it will probably work fine in Walkabout as well.

I was thinking about sending back for return but to be honest, I don’t think it’s technically faulty, I think it’s just a flaw of psvr2. Oh I noticed on resident evil say I walk up to a cabinet, I notice I kinda get punched back, a tiny bit and slight wobble when look right. I have about 1 month till warranty runs out and I may try and exchange it. Guess I don’t have anything to lose. Apart from Sony possibly refusing return. Anyway I appreciated your reply. 🥂

@@grahamkelly8662 Try facing different directions and see if turning right always gives you the wobble. I found the other day when I was sitting on my couch, looking left was giving me a bit of a wobble. But when I'm standing, no issues at all. I think it can depend on your environment - if you have something moving in it, or too much sunlight coming in, or if one direction is a big open space without many objects for the inside-out tracking to latch onto, you will find potential issues. Not necessarily a PSVR2 defect or flaw, as much as it's a limitation with the technology. Maybe as LIDAR becomes cheaper and better we'll see it get into new generations of headsets and this will become less of an issue. And if you don't have enhanced tracking support, I recommend turning that on, as that will turn your TV into a rock-solid point of reference for the headset.

Definitely a solid 9.5/10 to me. I played 8 courses yesterday. The physics are great and each course is unique. A must buy

Absolutely. I have a hard time picking my favourite course, all good in their own ways. Only a 9.5 though? What lost it that final 0.5? It was the menu font looking too much like Comic Sans right? 😄

I’m bit concerned about the golf club not being right level. For instance, I try to line up shot but have to bend right down to touch ball. Is this a thing? Or am I worried about nothing?

It has a clever feature where the club shortens or extends (within reason) to reach the ground, no matter your height or how you're standing/sitting, so you should be fine! 👍

As a golfer the physics are absolutely spot on. Far surpassed my expectations. Now all we need is a full golf game

That's good to hear. I've played more mini golf than golf and the physics felt pretty good to me! You might want to keep an eye on Golf+ (golfplusvr.com) which was mentioned in another comment as that may come to PS VR2 later this year. ⛳

I just want a super updated sequel to this game.

So do you walk to ball or when you hit it, can teleport to ball? I’m unsure why anyone would want to go walking around. I’m bit put off buying due to it possibly feeling awkward using 1 controller and resting other hand over wrist. I think I might just buy the base game and if it feels natural and fun, I’ll buy all dlc.

Both! You can either walk around (smooth loco or teleport) or you can teleport straight to the ball with a button press. Walking around can be useful if you want to look ahead at the hole or explore to find missing balls or complete foxhunts (optional clue-driven hunts which reward you with new putters). 🏌️‍♂️

I bought the Hole in one bundle but I can't access the dlc. How and where do I download the course from. If I go to them on the ps store it just says purchased, but no way to download it

After getting the Whole-in-one bundle I just downloaded the game and when I started it up it popped up messages for each of the DLC courses saying they'd unlocked and they were then all accessible from the in-game menu. If you've definitely purchased the bundle and you still can't access them then you could try and restore licenses (www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/games/restore-licences-playstation/). Hope you get it sorted! 🤞

They REALLY shouldn't need the reprojection though I feel, it makes motion blurry for me and I have to use snap turning etc which I never use normally I feel like the PS5 could do this natively at 120hz in it's sleep

It doesn't? Why are some people reporting reprojection? It does run at native 120.

Im currently obsessed with collecting all the lost balls and putters, ive curremtly unlocked all the balls and putters on the first page of maps and all the balls and the putter for the egyptian temple dlc map, from now be dping them i order, including all dlc maps, i just skipped to egypt as i like the egyptian bird head cosmetic

Do you know if Golf+ is coming to the PSVR2? I've seen conflicting reports online as to whether it actually is coming or not. I've even emailed the developers directly but got no response. There is absolutely no mention of the PSVR2 on their website. Something that is easy enough to check for yourself!!

Not 100% sure yet. As mentioned in the review I see some mild ghosting on some scenery but don't know if that's down to reprojection or persistence blur. Will try to find out from the devs what fps they went for. Don't let it put you off though, it's hardly noticeable when you're busy playing! ⛳
