It seems you are trying to understand his origin, role and vision etc. As far as I know he says that he is the direct descendant of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad PBUH. The hereditary office he holds, is the office of Immamat - once held by the successor of Muhammad who was Ali. In Shia Islam, the concept of Imamat was continued through the descendants of the prophet, and still in continuation right from the time of the Prophet's death. Today Shah Kaarim Al-Hussainy (whose secular title is The Aga Khan) is the 49th hereditary Imam of Ismaili Muslims. So, religiously, he is the Imam of the time - means leader of the people who refer to him as Imam, however, he also holds himself responsible for improving quality of human life - as he is inspired by his faith. Faith, according to the Aga Khan, demands people to live in peace and harmony regardless of whatever religion, ethnic background, colour and creed you represent. He believes in the essence of pluralism. This is why he has devoted most of his time to bridging societies and religions to bring harmony in the world. The Aga Khan is the true religion, as were all the imams/kings before. This never-ending line of descendants since Adam is something all Shias believed but many would go on to lose this belief and believe in a dead imam. God guides back to this belief, you just pray for truth and follow God's works and signs, and He will show you. Pray to God and He will lead you to the Shia books and give you even greater signs. God's religion isn't a book or a doctrine, it is to follow and cherish His living representative and light on Earth. During one time it was our master Muhammad (pbuh) as authority, now in our time it is The Aga Khan. The Quran is only a clear demonstration of this light, His word. But only God can show you His _living_ hand: the Divine Leader and Authority, and He will! *First,* pray for an open mind to God, then once you have an _open mind,_ your faith in God showing you He's really here and in control, it will lead you. Remember: "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward according to the best of what they used to do." -16:97 "How many nations have We destroyed before; do they not reflect? But you muslims, We shall make you greater than all nations." Worry not about your _book,_ or your religion or sect, but worry only about who's One, the Living God. Desire _His_ path. Only then will you be looking for truth.

And ever is Allah, of all things, Knowing.” The Holy Quran 33:40 This man do not even follow Qur'an “O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allaah is Ever Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful” [al-Ahzaab 33:59] This is what Islam prefers and on other hand you can search his pictures with girls in half clothes etc etc.

They wont see and observe what our Imams has done for the humanity, civilizations, generations, human development, poverty, education, great inventions in the Muslim world during Fatimid periods. The services were not exclusive for just Ismailis but for the whole Ummah. Explaining with example, the true meaning of Islam to the West and maintaining the bridge of harmony of East, Middle East to the West. Despite, what harm the other sects has brought to the image of Islam, because of Him, we have still some respect left. But yeah, opinions and judgements from people sitting on their comfy chairs are really common.

The Prophet(S.A.W) told in his life that their shall be no one coming after me for the guidance and I am the seal of Prophethood and guidance because ALLAH has completed and perfected the religion. In His(PBUH) life He(PBUH) told the people that many sects will be created after my departure from this world and all of them will go to hell except the one which truly follows Him(PBUH) and the Holy Qur'an. Not in a single place in Holy Qur'an it is mentioned that someone who helps the poor people should be considered as a source of guidance, the imam. Please try to put a stop on this blind faith read Holy Qur'an and the authentic Hadith and then think about your imam again. Sadly their many people who put the same thing forth which you just did that our imam donates alot, he helps people. Brother this world is a test, try to pass it using your mind.

First time I heard Imam Aga Khan talk and very pleased to hear his views. He seemed non political upright and full of conviction. His statement (15:23) " abide by the basic identification of what makes a muslim which is the shahadah.. well thats where it stops!!" if this message is received and understood by all muslims then a new era will begin. Long live HH Aga Khan. please go one step and clarify to the Ummah and particularly the Ismaili community that you are not a prophet and Muhammad SAW was the last of prophets. IODIDES, I admire the Aga Khan and his wisdom. It's unfortunate, that he is being interviewed by an idiot. This journalist needs a lesson in etiquette and should speak in a manner that befits the Aga Khan. Very truly said by the Aga Khan, it's not a question of Shia or Sunni. It's the question of the Ummah. I was once asked by a fundamental Hindu friend, what faith do I follow. I said simply that I am a Muslim and an adherent to the Islamic faith. BTW, I am not an Ismaili but I do admire the Aga Khan for his leadership and wisdom. He is trying to foster an harmonious coexistence between all faiths. I am Sayed Mazharali Al-Haddad, and a descendant of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), through his grandson Imam Hussein (RA)

greetings, i can't resist to say that the journalist doesn't know to how interview a global leader, who is not judgmental & is very discipline unlike the interviewer who interrupted him all the time, giving him words to say what he probably wasn't even getting to (really let the man speak) & rephrasing the same question & pushing it. I understand that as per Quran Allah is always Zaahir and Baatin and Imam is Allah's Zaahir since awareness of Allah is important. Prophet Muhammad is part of Imam's or Allah's noor.
