Selçuk’a 9 kilometre uzaklıktaki Meryem Ana Evi Bülbül Dağı üzerinde bulunmaktadır. İsa’nın ölümünden 4 ya da 6 yıl sonra St.John’un Meryem Ana’yı Efes’e getirdiği bilinmektedir. 1891 yılında Lazarist papazlar Alman rahibe A.Katherina EMERICH’in rüyası üzerine Meryem Ana’nın son günlerini geçirdiği evin araştırmalar sonunda bu yer olduğunu ortaya çıkarmışlardır. Bu olay Hristyanlık dünyasında yepyeni bir buluş olmuş ve din alemine ışık tutmuştur. Haç planlı ve kubbeli olan bu yapı daha sonra restore edilmiştir. Müslümanlarca da kutsal sayılan evde Papa VI.Paul’un 1967 deki ziyaretinden sonra her yıl Ağustos ayının 15 . gününden ayinler düzenlenmekte ve bu ayinler büyük ilgi görmektedir.
