Walked for 5 hours in Kyoto before just exploring. In the noon time, was not raining. But was still very picturesque and enthralling. The perfect blend of temples and metropolis is the vibe of Kyoto.
What a magically beautiful place. That lighting in the rain is fantastic.

Every time I look at Japan, especially on city roads and forests, I always remember the era when the samurai, shogun, ninja, shinobi, etc. lived here, especially in an atmosphere like this.

I've lived in Kyoto some years ago. It was a heaven in the earth.
One of the most stunning cities on earth, without doubt.
10:55 this feels surreal, the colors of the streets, the color of the sky, this fantastical looking tree rising on the horizon... wonderful.
Not a single human, wonderful.

The fact there's no one else around gives me liminal space vibes, but comforting ones
Kyoto is really a beautiful place. 'Old' Japan sprouting among modern economic powerhouse. Not to mention how clean and dustless it is :)

I freaking love the peaceful, clean emptiness of those streets. Lots of lights illuminating the wet road and reflecting in windows beautifully, and the fact that this video is so sharp and crisp, plus the soothing sound of the rain...! It's all so perfect.
*sigh of relaxation* As a Londoner, it rains 60% of the year, including summers. And, as a Londoner, I Do love to take peaceful night time walks between 1-4am, so this was the Perfect ghost town walk for me. I've been fascinated with Japan since I was kid watching anime movies on bbc2 in the 90s. Kyoto is my number 1 destination in Japan and then, the famous trek up Mount Fuji to watch the sunrise and set... Yes, I got time. What else do we have but time? 😅 Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Tokyo, the countryside's
I want to take a moment to honor what this video achieves, what it truly is. This is somebody at ease with themselves. This is what inner peace looks like POV.
At first thank you for this video. Night in Kyoto is so beautiful. Sound of rain , your steps & the cars passing by will attract everybody. Thank you again for your nice video.
What a beautiful rain storm. In Kyoto. I miss Kyoto so much.

Quite possibly the most beautiful city in the world.
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. may peace and calmness fill your life.
I am sitting here in Ontario Canada looking at this video on my 86 inch 4K tv, wearing a pair of wireless headphones. The colour and sound is amazing. I feel I can just step into the screen .
What a wonderful country please don't ever change.
This is my new fav "walk". I felt like I was transported to Kyoto and it also brings back fond memories of my trip there in late 2018.
Napping in a hammock, listening to this music, and gently fanning yourself sounds like a perfect way to deal with the midday heat. It's no wonder you're feeling sleepy!
Everything is so tidy and clean that looks like a very good quality architectural rendering
One thing that I have always liked to do when I visit a city is to get lost in its narrowest and oldest streets.... these kinds of walks are always relaxing This walk has reminded me of the times I have visited Kyoto... Thanks for the good memories
Watching this in the UK in August 2022 and thinking "I miss rain"
I've been to Kyoto once when I was a teenager. I still cannot forget how I felt every moment while staying there. Kyoto was very beautiful. But it says nowadays it's so hard to visit and travel Kyoto for the most foreigners. Only a few foreigners who got strictly confirmed can be welcomed to visit there. They say it is to keep the area very relaxed and noble and not to be bothered by any noise. I heard not every visitor could eat in any restaurant in Kyoto but only allowed visitors could reserve restaurants there. And for those who cannot reserve, must know someone who actually lives in Kyoto, and through that person's reservation, they can only be invited to eat... I wish I could visit Kyoto again..

I'm very happy and relieved to hear about your good experience in our country! That's true about certain restaurants in Kyoto. They are for regular customers and their accompanies only. These places aren't on Google Maps or guidebooks, and in many (probably most) other restaurants, anyone can make a reservation (they might have trouble understanding English though, sorry in advance🫠). Also, COVID restriction has been relaxed to a great extent now, and I've seen many tourists from overseas visiting Kyoto now. Due to the currency rate, you can visit Japan cheaper than ever now! I hope you visit here again and wish you have a great time in Kyoto or anywhere else!
The most beautiful City. In my opinion of course.
Imagine how much beautiful will looks with snow...
I’m trying to decide if i should visit Kyoto or Tokyo for my first visit to Japan. They both seem like such amazing cities to visit.

I would recommend you start with Kyoto, because it is a beautiful city you can explore in a few days (and then dedicate two more to see the neighboring Osaka and Nara areas). Afterwards, you can move to Tokyo. A megacity so big you can easily spend weeks just walking around, discovering interesting things behind each corner.

I would recommend both city's both are amazing in there own way, Tokyo is fast moving city and I think the best place to stay in Tokyo is around the ASAKUSA area this place is so Beautiful plenty of lovely walks & lovely eateries. Kyoto is so different and so many amazing walks and a much less pace in getting around but the city can be very busy with people side walks can be full and also in the enclosed shopping area's so I would advise on lots of research B4 you go I did two years so my holidays ran smoothly good luck
It looks so different without thousands of tourists, this feels really authentic
This is extremely relaxing. I get Sunday vibes from this.
It is so inexplicably peaceful to walk down deserted streets & corridors as the rain taps the surroundings. The soft glow from the streetlamps, the reflection of light dancing across the wet blocks, & the haunting emptiness of the streets is chilling to the eye & soul & the perfect moments of solitude & tranquility. I was stationed in Japan in the U.S.M.C. from 84-85. Loved it. I have developed mobility issues & videos such as this not only entertain me but take me to places, I can scarce visit today. Thank you so much for posting.
Anyone wants to talk about how clean the street is? Cant imagine how relaxing this is if I can walk on clean street like this
Best part, when a kid greet the cameraman “konbanwa” 😍
Man those orange lights really make it feel so warm and comfortable. More cities world-wide should utilize them.

Sadly most cities are getting rid of them as fast as they can because plain white LEDs are cheaper and use less energy
I’ve watched this 4 times over the past week and I’m still speechless. The lighting is just so incredibly pretty, and the colors are gorgeous and it’s so clean and crisp I feel like my eyes are lying to me lol I would love to go one day but since I’m unable to this has been the best thing. The sound as well just has been wonderful ☺ I loved this
I've watched too many Japanese period movies, expecting a trained katana-wielder to jump out in the middle of this peaceful street and challenge me to a duel haha. Beautiful scenery, thank you for this!
kyoto is perfect for me , i love quiet places where we can go take a night walk without being disturbed
Many people who see this probably don't feel like seeing it for the first time. That's because this fantastic land is home to many anime in Japan.
Wow, this feeling is great. It feels like no one else. It’s very comfortable and healing. I like it very much! China sends blessings!

This brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing the magic of Japan with these intimate strolls through the streets of such majestic and awe-inspiring city. Thanks, from Mexico.
My favorite moment is at 22:00, walking around the corner to see a Gingko tree and its fallen golden leaves. The season is autumn.
This looked to be CGI at first, but I focused on lack of detail that CGI tend to leave behind and what I see is vibrance of detail. This is totally real, and it look immaculate. Very well done, excellent work.
Words cannot describe how amazing it was to follow you along on this walk! As calming and relaxing as it was beautiful to watch, thank you so much for this
thank you so much. Wet shoes and feet obviously , sleepless night. Great video. Love Kyoto and Japan. Greetings from Sydney, Australia
Kyoto evidently has no people and no litter. Looks beautiful.
Kyoto must be really safe that you can just take a leisurely stroll around in the rain at midnight. Few other cities in the world can boast this level of safety.

The only thing that would worry me is the possibility of encountering the Green Gargantua during a walk such as this. He enjoys the darkness and the rain and can sneak right up on someone despite his size. Sure, he wasn't here on this walk, but you never know.

@@SystemBD Even if it's 90%+ there are hundreds of cities (around a thousand to be more exact) that are fairly safe at night, just like Kyoto. It also depends on the person holding the camera.

the architecture of those houses it's just amazing, beautiful, ancient and modern at same time
This is what i call peaceful. I have always wanted to be in that kind of place, alone, raining.. my eyes are blessed.
wow, the view is very nice, the sound of rain is calming, relaxation for a good sleep.
Literally crying, thats so beautiful
this has better graphical quality and sound than real life itself
The sound the rain makes when it hits the umbrella is nice.
wearing Dolby Atmos headphones in front of 50 inch screen, lights out, is like you're actually walking on the streets of kyoto.. it really gives me goosebumps when i see the temple from afar... other than that, the sound of rain is very relaxing...

Astonishing video quality! Lovely area too! I’m jealous of all that beautiful architecture and that steady rainfall😍.
This is fantastic - I visited Japan for the first time in November and walked down some of these same streets, but seeing them at night and in the rain makes it look like almost a different city altogether.
Awesome video! I like to pay attention to different sounds, like the cameraman greeting someone else in 44:56 😅
Oh wonderful. I was hoping the Short version was just a trailer for a longer version.
