The chain bridge of Budapest was rebuilt from scratch by Soviet engineers and soldiers right after ww2 from materials brought in from the Soviet Union. An entirely new bridge was sketched on blueprints and on drawing boards mostly based on few old pictures of the chain bridge of 1849. Orizinal horse coach bridge was designed for horse drawn coaches and small cars in 1849. This bridge and almost all other bridges of Budapest were completely destroyed in 1944 or early 1945 by retreating Nazi soldiers, towards the end of ww2. After rebuilding the bridge completely to take heavier loads such as buses and trucks, the original British inauguration sign of about 1850 was re ininserted near the bridge or on the bridge by the same Soviet bridge builders of the chain bridge of Budapest. In other words the bridge was already 95 years old in 1944 anyway, and a replacement bridge was the need of the hour in 1944. Old bridge of 1849 vould take loght traffic loads and cars and horse drawn coaches. Now, the newer bridge of post ww2 era can take heavy loads such as buses and trucks. Likely the old chain bridge of 1849 - 1850 had a few cracks by 1944. Stalin wanted to start an alliance of east European nations. No member country should have destroyed bridges and destroyed cities destroyed from Nazi bombings from the ww2 era. Solution was to re-build towns ofveast Europe at lightning pace. Stalin wanted to build a show piece new chain bridge across Budapest which takes heavier loads. Soviet engineers put less effort in quickly rebuilding about eight other bridges of Budapest. Bridges rebuilt from 1945 were in and outside Budapest. Soviet engineers also rebuilt Warsaw as a show piece city inbEast Europe after ww2, rebuilding destroyed offices and museums and markets of Warsaw. Although Hitler destroyed Warsaw, fewer people were killed in the destruction of Warsaw and other Polish cities by Nazis.

The reality is that Budapest was massacred and almost completely destroyed during WWII so yes there are a few nice building remaining but most of what we see was built AFTER the war thus is of debatable beauty and historical value. You can't erase the past that is the war that destoyed so much.

Tévedés, mert az épületek nagyrésze sérülten, de megmaradt, olyan épületek lettek lerombolva a kommunisták által, ami megmenthető lett volna, csak nem illett az akkori szocreál építészeti stílusba. Egyébként most sorra épülnek vissza ezek az épületek, "eredeti" formájukban és pár év múlva például úgy fog kinézni a Budai Vár, mint amikor épült. Ami tényleg mindig is hiányozni fog, az például a legszebb Duna híd(Erzsébet) , amit a nácik felrobbantottak, kommunisták meg felépítettek helyére egy nem túl szép autópályahídat. Rengeteg műemléki felújítás zajlik a városban most például a Mátyás templom mellett, a pénzügyminisztérium gyönyörű épülete újult meg. Persze még mindig vannak olyan épületek a Halászbástyánál és a Bazilikánál is, ami sokak szerint "tájidegen", de védetté lettek nyilvánítva, mivel abban a korban, amelyben készültek, kivételes építészeti alkotásnak számítottak. Ezekkel az épületekkel próbáltak átmenetet képezni a stílusok között, hol több, hol kevesebb sikerrel.

Nous parlons davantage des victimes juives de l'Holocauste, car ce génocide a visé systématiquement l'extermination de six millions de Juifs, et était unique par son ampleur et ses méthodes. Cependant, d'autres groupes ont également souffert, notamment les Roms, les personnes handicapées, les Slaves, les prisonniers de guerre soviétiques, les homosexuels et les opposants politiques. Il est important de reconnaître toutes ces victimes pour mieux comprendre les horreurs de la guerre.

Sajnálom, hogy ilyen negatív tapasztalataid voltak Budapesten. Mint minden városnak, Budapestnek is vannak különböző arcai, és sajnos nem minden része tökéletes. Azonban sokan szeretik Budapestet a történelmi szépségeiért, kultúrájáért és vibráló atmoszférájáért. Remélem, hogy a jövőben jobb élményekkel gazdagodsz, ha újra ellátogatsz ide.

Mi a vibráló atmoszféra egy lepukkadt városban hetente kétszer járok Budapestre dolgozni ápolónő vagyok és csak a rondaságot látom, amikor beér kelenföldre a vonat az a BORZALMASAN lepukkadt sárga állomás szörnyen nézki, én már rég lebontottam volna még mindig jobban nézne ki ha nem lenne ott semmi, mint a 20. század elejét idéző sárga épület.

Turistaként Budapestet egy másik szemszögből érzékelem, fókuszálva a történelmi épületekre, a Dunára, a gyönyörű hidakra és a vibráló kulturális életre. A Várnegyed, a Parlament épülete és az Andrássy út mind csodálatos látványosságok, amelyek a város szépségét emelik ki. Értem, hogy a mindennapi ingázás során más, kevésbé szép oldalakat láthatsz, de a turisták számára Budapest tele van élettel és lenyűgöző helyszínekkel.

Prosím Vás, aké mesto? Práve som sa vrátil z Budapešti. Nič moc, všade žobráci, žobrú. Pouličné pohostenie úbohé, mnohí ani variť nevedia. Hlavná železničná stanica z vonku pekná, ale vo vnútri úbohá, informačné tabule nikde, zmenáreň na mince nikde, aby ste si mohli uschovať batožinu Nikdo vám ani poradiť nevie. Mnohé Budovy pekné, architektúra. Ale mnohé škaredé čierne, hnus. Kúpele boli pekné a dobré, Parlament krásny. Ľudská potreba WC prakticky nikde, samá neochota ešte ani pracovník pri Metre vám nevedel poradiť. Určite nikdy viac.

Je mi ľúto, že ste mali takúto skúsenosť v Budapešti. Každé mesto má svoje silné a slabé stránky, a je škoda, že ste narazili na tieto problémy. Budapešť je známa svojou krásnou architektúrou a historickými miestami, ako ste spomenuli Parlament a kúpele.
