My grandmother's Czech family had a number of similar teachings/rules they passed down: 1) All is family, treat each other well, this includes animals, plants, objects, the unseen. 2) Never let your fear drive the cart/car. Your job is to figure how to work with it, put it aside, get to the next phase. 3) No one is locked down, all challenges are hurdles. Not all hurdles are meant to be jumped over. Walk around, dig under it, do what it takes to figure it out and move on. There is more than one right answer, pick the one which fits best and for the longest benefit, beyond your own (if possible). 4) Live a life worth loving, reflecting back on, one the future generations will grow on and be inspired by. A simple life can be the most powerful, so do not think it means being 'famous.' A life worth living is not about fame, money, possessions. All you own is you. It is good to hear similar wisdom. It is good to know the teachers who aided my ancestors made it around to all humans. It reinforces the first rule: all is family. Thank you for sharing what you can. It helps me feel a bit more sane for adhering to those family teachings.

I greatly appreciate reading your comment. My grandfather and grandmother were Czech. I never got to meet them. My grandfather was born in Brno in 1885, and came to the US as a little boy. My grandmother was born in Nebraska to Czech parents, and lived in a Czech community. My grandparents had my father later in life. My father has no recollection of any heritage passed down from the old country (as they called it), and they only spoke English to him. I enjoyed learning these teachings from you.

I walk in beauty every time I sit and drink my coffee every morning in my back yard. I look up in the heavens,at the clouds, listen to the birds sing. Look at the trees move with the wind, look at the flowers and plants around me. The beautiful green grass, watch my two adorable dogs running on the grass chasing each other like two little kids. From where I sit I can see over our fence at our church where the Virgin mary holds baby Jesus in her arms. Yes indeed I walk in beauty every morning and I 💖❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎 it!

reposting this from another dine' site gathering of healers, "The Navajo believe the world to be an orderly place filled with interconnected objects all existing in a state of balance and harmony. The bedrock of the Navajo philosophy is the concept of Hózhó, which means a combination of existing in a state of balance, harmony, wellness, peace, and completeness. A sort of integrated oneness, with the universe running like an incredibly finely adjusted watch, with everything seamlessly working together. It is a complex concept that is remarkably similar to the Chinese Tao. The simplified translation of "to walk in beauty" trivializes the complexity of Hózhó. For the Navajo, Hózhó is everything, and when it goes awry, the orderly universe is disrupted and must be restored to its natural order. The issue is not one of aesthetics, as beauty is, but a fundamental characteristic of existence."

This is the truth we seek, at one with Mother Earth. It has to be so painful to the elders, what we've done to this planet. This would never of happened, if we learned from the local people, instead of brutally forcing them into our ways. A'ho 💛🙏💛
