I drove an FLD daycab for 4 years and was by far my favorite truck. Everything in reach and nicely laid out for the driver. It drove like a pickup truck. The only time I hated to see a new truck arrive. Love your truck and even more that you rescued it and making money with it.

The fld was like the little brother of the classic. And were the last of the trucks made by Freightliner to last. My first truck I drove was a Volvo WIA 64, than I drove an 04 FLD I think that was the last year for them. That is a nice looking ride.

President emissions is actually before 03 before egr started. Before 1997 and abs braking you dont need reflective dot top on the back of cab.

Its a work horse but looks great can't wait to fix my dads Classic XL 👍👌

Thars what i had in my 2001 fld.white 70 inch stand up sleeper. Loaded to the hilt. It had a 430 cat with a super 10 trans and 355 rears. It was a nice old truck and it would roll out to about 105 mph

Has anyone here ever change the dash lights or panel lights in a Freightliner I have a 2012 Columbia and you can barely see the lights in the daytime it has to almost be completely dark outside for the dash lights to shine halfway decent can someone tell me if it's possible because in the night I want my lights or gauges to illuminate better than they do now

@@fldlife appreciate the fast reply, I have a 98 ddc3 the block doesn't have to cool jets for pistons like ddc4 and newer have so it's not recommended to push over 600 hp because exhaust temps so I'm going to call to see if he came max the power setting just below 600... It's currently 500hp with a low torque setting, had a cat set at 600hp 2050 but she drank fuel like there was a hole in the tank lol.. Im saving 500-700 a week in fuel with the 12.7 love it..

Ty Fleshman I check all comments before I go to bed lol is there a way to get ddec4 pistons on your ddec3? So you can have the piston coolers in it? That way u can get a better tune but otherwise 550hp should be fine in my opinion

It's not the pistons themselves it's the block. When its time to rebuild my ddec3 I'm going to just swap it for a ddec4 and have the ecm tuned for ddec4. Easiest way to resolve that issue...

Teddy _Tedd the turbo is a borg Warner 171702 turbo and the manifold it’s a Pittsburgh power brand you can get both at Pittsburgh power or shop around the manifold many other brands out there pdi has one bully dog too the turbo any turbo shop shoul has it I bought mine here locally at a turbo shop eBay also has them make sure it’s the original since there’s many knock offs out there
