Walk Around Fleetwood Memorial Park

Come with us for a walk around Fleetwood Memorial Park, filmed on Tuesday 28 July 2020. It's a lovely public space, find it between Highbury Avenue, Poulton Road and Copse Road, we're going into the Warrenhurst Road entrance, through the main park gates. They were restored recently, completed in time for Remembrance Sunday 2014.
Fleetwood Memorial Park was named in 1917 to honour the fallen of World War 1. The trees planted by children who lost their fathers and relatives in the war are now mature sycamores. Fleetwood Memorial Park was designed and built in 1925 by Sir Patrick Abercrombie. Did you know that it's one of only a few listed memorial parks and gardens in the country?
Walk around Fleetwood Memorial Park with us and take a look at the Remembrance Avenue, the main path to Fleetwood War Memorial. Passing Fleetwood Cenotaph, we go through the park past Fleetwood bowling green, to the duck pond, past flower beds and beautiful planting. See the children's playgrounds and the rose garden. Finally we're back at Fleetwood park gates, in the park near the town centre. This park in Fleetwood is a lovely space, why don't you take a look?

This is a beautiful park. A credit to Darren and his team. Darrens father was once a gardener on the park so his father would be so proud of what he has done. My dads cousin was one of the children that planted a tree in the Memorial aAe. owing to having lost his father in WW1. i have many relatives named on the Cenotaph.

It would be nice to get people to donate to be able to have a rose planted in the garden in memory of someone with a little named plaque I’m sure they would get the number of roses up Thanks for the walk round - never done that myself

I have walked my dog here whilst on holiday. Impressed how well it was kept. Nice to hear the history behind the park.
