    Taking cues from previous gens 330e, that B48 is likely a detuned 330i engine. A simple tune will allow this 330e to make 370-390hp effortlessly. Crazy capable engine, coupled with an already strong ZF 8sp transmission to handle that EV torque.

    Very likely to be very similar to the “standard” B4x engine in the 330i. We don’t know that for sure, but it certainly makes sense. These hybrids can definitely be made to be quick if that’s what you’re looking for!

    As someone who knows nothing about hybrids, electric cars, or PHEVs, excuse my lack of knowledge, but if you were to use the car on full hybrid mode, which to my understanding allows the car to choose when to use the electric motor vs the internal combustion motor, how long does the electrical motor last on hybrid mode before all the charge is used up? I know the car gets 75 mpge, but how long does that last?

    Good question... it would depend pretty heavily on the type of driving that you are doing, and the driving style of the person behind the wheel. So, it's tough to give a direct answer... there are cases where it would last as long or longer than the tank of gas, or less.

    Thank you for the answer. However, what I meant was whether it is possible to state that the battery needs to be at 50%? - in the previous model, if you were at 40% then you could set the target to 50%, and the car would charge the battery until it reaches 50%(while driving). That feature seems to be gone in the LCI, right?

    When someone is driving on the highway.... cruising at highway speeds...doesn't the car know this and revert back to the engine and not electric or does it still flip flop both of the energy sources while cruising in hybrid mode? What exactly does ECO PRO mode do to the driving characteristics?

  • @bmwofmorristown9038

    @bmwofmorristown9038

    11 ай бұрын

    It will vary based on speed and energy demand. If you're going 85mph and blasting the AC, it will need the gas engine. Hybrid mode will use the car's brain the decide what is best for the given situation. ECO PRO serves the same purpose that it does in ICE cars, conserve energy, both gas and electric.

    @@GooseyMane remember, this is not MPG......this is simply an efficiency rating. so the MPG is something you would need to determine based on the metrics they do give you now....due to the fact that BMW isn't saying anything about it. so this is what I determined........you have a 10.6 gallon fuel tank and the MPG for the normal engine is around 33mpg....so that would put you at 350 miles on a tank of gas. then you can go another 20-30miles on just eclectic. so fully charged and full tank ...you can get 375 miles....so if you take 375miles/10.6 gallons....you are working on 35.4mpg....combined. you can do better than that if you work with the electric more and charge it more. I've heard people can get up to 40mpg.... But keep in mind, if you use your A/C or drive it in the winter...you will drop in efficiency. hope this helps!
