Our mama is our eyes, teaches us to be open minded, alert, and humble. And our papa is our feet, telling us to stand up and fight, whenever you feel like you're down and giving up in life. This song is a message that we can't express to our parents, someday I will be able to say "pahinga muna, ako na" (take a rest, I'll take care of it) to them. Were same,my mom died when I was 2 also and my younger sister is 10months old and I'm an OFW,far from home.😢😢😢and my father has a serious illness at this time of pandemic.i wish I can be with him,but I had to work.for them...I'm a bread winner.i had to indure all the pain of missing them.

This song hits different because Josh and Ken singing their parts growing up without their dads beside them. Not even a memory for Josh to reminisce as he never met his dad.He had to fight for his life on his own. While Ken's gradma who stood as his parents, just recently passed away and he was not able to see her for the last time before she died.🥺

The first time Ive heard this song, I cried so hard. SB19 are unbelievably talented. I dont know how they wer able to come up with a song like this. It's full of emotions. They did a great job, not to mention their vocals.

The chorus Latara sounds like "La Tierra" in Spanish which is translated to "The Earth" or "The World". Our parents means a lot for most of us that we refer them as our world. The chorus is also a lullaby which children sings for their parents like Mom (Ma), Dad (Pa) it is time for you to rest for now, it is our time to give back. It is being cheesy to our parents without being cheesy. Ya know what i mean? Thanks for this RV guys! :)

OMG Waleska and Efra! I too love the song. It really shows the "roots" (Pablo - the leader said that the album will look back to their roots) of all Filipinos. Mapa is literally a tagalog word for Map. And the song embodies love for our parents. We call them MA and PA. It's a tribute for everything that they've done for us, going back to our roots and applauding them. They are our MAP since the day we were born.

MAPA is not just a song...it is a story. A brilliant masterpiece. The line distribution was fantastic. When Pablo asked Josh, Justin, Ken and Stell to write what they want to say to their parents, they went on to write what will be the lyrics of the song. Yeah right I agree SB19 vocals are very natural that why it is showing in their new song. You can feel the warmth and emotion in their voices no pretense truly comforting.

Pablo said in one of their interview " they were inspired to write this song because there are times in their career that their are so busy and they don't have time to go home ang see their parents. Pablo ask each member how they feel that time. Alot of people who heard this song actually cried in the Philippines. This song is like Mona Lisa actually, the message changes depending on who listens to this from adulting children's fight song, parents lullaby, abandoned child/parents yearnings, and a mourning song. And it makes people emotional especially now that people just kept dying left and right and those people were also once fathers, mothers, guardians and children.

Missing my MaPa too,I'm a daughter who provides for my family,an ofw here in Kuwait for 6yrs,I don't have husband and children yet,but I have both of my parents and 3brothers that I'm sending to school. The other day my mom asks me if when I'm going home because she misses me physically, I told her,soon I'm coming home. Broke me to tears then.

The song is really a play of words.... MAPA which means map but then we all realized as the song progressed that it really is short for Mama and Papa who, in essence, serve us our maps in charting our life from day 1 and for the remainder of our lives. Ma is also short for Mata (eyes), represented by our mothers who from the get-go served as our eyes to see the world from a lens of a mother who is caring and nurturing. Pa is also short for Paa (feet) who served as our feet as we take our first steps into the world, preparing us as we continue to draw the stories of our own very lives. While not everyone may have a good story to remember their parents by as I do have friends who are in that situation, however, they chose to see the silver lining in their stories and focused on the fact that their parents decided to bring them to this world. In that same sense, their mother and father still served as maps to their very existence. And for those who are still with their parents who have done nothing but care for you as their children, please enjoy everyday that you are with them. Not everyone is as lucky as you who has a parent or both. Hug them and say I love you as much as you can.
