I’m very proud to say that my first piece of Synth hardware EVER, is this magnificent machine!! I recently bought one brand new in Australia and the music shop that I bought it from, sent me an email saying that they’re happy to extend the “Voluntary Manufacturers Warranty” from Waldorf(which is 12months), by two years in exchange for $320.00. After I read it, I laughed my ass off because the Consumer Laws in Australia demand that any product physically sold in this country HAS TO HAVE a warranty of at least TWO YEARS. So regardless of what Waldorf says, if they want their product to be sold in Australia, IT IS COMPULSORY to comply with our Consumer Laws. I responded to the music shop’s email and politely said no to their offer, since they should also know about our consumer laws, Plus it was a failed cash grab attempt by them. So everyone, know your country’s consumer laws so you can get the best out of your equipment.

A little confusing... was it an Australien store? Warranty is held by the seller right? He in return has to deal with manufacturer right?

  • @adamjacksonmedia

@@JohnTrasherHe has no idea what he is talking about. A manufacturer sets a warranty. Consumer Laws ensure warranties are honoured. But the Australian government doesn't impose their own statutory warranties. I've been selling in Australia for 25 years.

@@adamjacksonmediahi it’s been a while since I made this comment and I was on a hype when I made it as I was very excited to receive my synth. But correct me if I’m wrong; for a product to be legally sold in Australian stores, isn’t the warranty standard within Australian consumer law 2 years…regardless of what the manufacturers say? I appreciate any response. As I get to learn new things. Thank you.

  • @Chiromulus

@@JohnTrasherhi it’s been a while. Sorry for any confusion. Yes I bought it in an Australian store and I live in Australia. And yes, I believe the store than deals with the manufacturer but since Waldorf doesn’t have a store within Australia. They have to go through a supplier(Link Audio, they’re the only supplier) which then on sells Waldorf products to physical stores Australia wide. Since they are selling products through physical stores, to my knowledge, they still have to lawfully obey Australian consumer law standards. I hope this clarifies it for you. Thank you.
