If you're ever in the Tallahassee area, you and the kids would love it! Tickets for the boat tour (45-60 minutes) are around $8 each, not bad for such a cool experience.

@@SlonesWildernessExpeditions no. That’s not a bad price at all!
Interesting.
Went there in 1970. Ten years old. Sorta scary, and foreboding, but man what a place.

VERY nice video! You did a wonderful job capturing video of all the birds and wildlife that it's possible to see on the boat ride. I especially enjoyed seeing the Hooded Merganser in the video. Such a beautiful duck! I've been on that ride many times. And stayed at the Lodge everytime I've visited. It's a wonderful place to escape and enjoy nature.

Yes indeed! Great resort park, yet in the wild.
On the thumbnail you have the picture of a black caiman and a saltwater crocodile, neither of which you will find at Wakulla springs:)

Thanks for giving me a laugh! You're right, obviously. The thumbnail was just for attention 🤷♂️
I love movie and tv film locations, totally up our alley. I’m pretty sure I have seen Tarzan for sure. Such a different world than IL for sure. Great that you guys were able to do a trail there also.

Thanks, it was a lot of fun learning some of the history of those films in this place! The guy that acted as the Creature from the Black Lagoon was a lifeguard at the park at the time, he got the part because he could hold his breath underwater longer than the actual actors!

@@SlonesWildernessExpeditions Now that’s a great fun fact. Lucky life guard.
What a beautiful State Park. I heard of it but have not been. It looks awesome, seeing all that wildlife. I really love the gators... I remember when we were driving the Everglades and got out, there were gators all over the place, just like here. The fall color is awesome and all the birds. The ducks look so beautiful too. Love seeing the cypress trees!

It is a whole different world! We've skirted around the Everglades a few years ago, did an airboat ride, but didn't really get to explore. Someday!
Fantastic chronicle of the adventure! Those boat tours are often the best way to see a new nature area. Maybe it is a Florida thing, but the large birds and ducks seem to stay in the same general areas. I like to name them with rowdy names in my local preserve. The boat captains probably know where they hang out so as to get passengers the best experience. And that is a good thing. The gators are a bit more temperature sensitive, but from your tee shirts and video, it seems you were there at the right temps. Once again blown away by Catfish's still photography. Might want to hang a couple on your walls.

Thanks! Catfish has really gotten into photography over the past year, he got a new camera for Christmas so this was an awesome place for him to really test it out. Obviously, we have nothing like this in Indiana!
Quite the variety of birds! Can’t believe the number of alligators you saw - thought for a minute there we were going to see one enjoy a duck lunch. 😬

You and me both! I filmed that gator and those ducks for a few minutes, just waiting for it to happen! But he swam right on by.

its florida so aligators and birds are common. its that the places like walkula are heavily preserved now so they try to maintain the natural beauty. so you get more wildlife there and in the countryside than you do other places.
Awesome video fella's!

This is great place for wildlife. But I would be scared of gators. We would totally check out this boat ride. Much safer than the KZread videos in Kayaks. Those 🐊 are too scary for my taste.

I used to feel the same way about gators, but after being "near" them several times, I've realized they are quite docile and don't want to spend the energy to attack, so we just keep our distance and view from a safe distance! This boat ride would be perfect for a family to see them safely.
Lost me with those STUPID MASKS.
