Waking Up To The First Frost

‪@cloudberryflowers-flowerfarm‬ woke up this morning to the first frost of the autumn. I could feel it yesterday when I was cutting flowers, that temperature dip and the feeling that winter is around the corner. 2023 has been a good year for flowers. I have learned so much and can't wait to share it with you over the coming months #youtubeshorts #flower #garden #frost #autumn

It is always so 😔 face to see the flower season end, i agree ... it has been a good one for the flower season. 🌼 I dislike saying bye-bye to 2023 flowers.

It is hard saying goodbye to the end of another flower season. Although you know it’s coming it still takes me by surprise how one big frost is enough to finish them all overnight. Time now to dig up the dahlias and think towards making a start on Christmas wreaths in the next few weeks.

Hello, hopefully get another one out soon. We have had such a torrential week of rain it has been flattening the flowers and I haven’t got out as much as I would have liked. When it’s a bit drier we will get a new video on the go!

Cheers and blessings to you and yours! 🍀🌺 It is the ending of dahlias in Hawaii. Powdery mildew hits about now.. Can grow anything from stocks and snaps to even zinnias, depending on elevation in winter.

Hello and thanks so much for watching in Hawaii. It’s always a bit sad when the dahlias end for another year, mine have just finished properly now with repeated frosts. Sounds like you can grow a lot over the winter. What do the temperatures get down to in Hawaii in the wintertime?

@@cloudberryflowers-flowerfarm Coldest stormy night at my 2,200 ft elevation is probably 45 degrees .F. Usually in the fifties. We grow bananas mangoes starfruit breadfruit papayas citrus fruit year-round, other fruits, several varieties of avocados! Edit. I miss seasons and snow, sometimes... But, we go see the Whales all winter from a boat.. Like meeting God.. 💦🐋🐋🐳🐬🐬
