+john smith Actually a lot of Christian rap music talks about selling drugs, having sex, and killing people. The difference is, in Christian rap (Lecrae, KB, Trip Lee, Andy Mineo, etc.) these things are looked down upon, whereas many times in secular rap these things are glorified.

About 3 months ago I was angry and hurt as disappointment after disappointment kept coming my way. Our church was closing it's doors forever, and things just weren't right. One morning I'm making breakfast, I can feel God telling me go to your computer turn on some music. I said no...I'm grumpy. Long story short I fired up my computer went to the new music section on my Zune for Christian music. This album pops up... Wake with in me is the first song I play. I have not stopped listening to it since. God always gives us exactly what we need. One Conference in L.A. and 3 months later this song still minister's to me!

I can relate to you, my American church closed down in October 2013. In circumstances but it happen not because people didn't want to stay together, it was time for the people in the church to branch out to their communities and be lead by God. In the end of the 5 year journey being with Emmaus Road, we were a mission church to be authentic discipleship to the known and unknown. From what I learned, continue to trust God and have faith in him, and trust in his plans! When he closes old doors, he absolutely will open new doors and opportunities to rise! SO WAKE!!

Awesome! keep doing your thing Hillsong. Don't pay any mind to a single hate comment from people who don't even understand what worship is. Worship is NOT music. it is a lifestyle. Music is just one of the many means by which someone can worship. It can be a hymn, an upbeat techno song, taking out the trash, cutting the grass, working hard at your job... as long as you are glorifying God and showing Him reverence and adoration. That is worship. How dare anyone have the nerve to determine if a person's worship is genuine. That is God's job, He is the only One who can see the heart behind the worship. Please don't do God's job for Him, just worship Him however you want and let others worship Him how they want. He loves all of us the same regardless, lets just spread that around a little bit more than this ridiculous criticism.

Joshua Todd WOW. so powerful. wish everyone understood this concept. People get so caught up in their religious bubbles, there own personalized customs and views on how worship "SHOULD BE". A true worshiper doesn't need music to tap into his presence. It is a day by day 24/7 lifestyle. Correct, God uses platforms such as this where people LEAD others being LED by Christ. We praise GOD for what he does...but WORSHIP him for WHO he is, There is a difference. Your post is so spot on. God Sees the REAL HEART of his people. I KNOW GOD LIVES IN ME! That's your opinion. While your point on balance is true, there is a difference between a spiritual performer and a worshipper. The same worship that can lead, can also distract. I am a proud member of this church. We don't worship the way we do to get attention or be imbalanced. In this specific moment, the demographic is primarily youth - it is a youth album and concert. It's not about conforming but allowing children to feel free and express themselves the way they feel.

Who can say what is and what is not "spiritual?" Standing and worshipping quietly maybe with a hand raised doesn't equal spirituality. What even IS spirituality, and who cares? God knows your heart. We shouldn't be so concerned with "how" other people worship. See 2 Samuel 6:16. King David leaped and danced foolishly before the Lord and an onlooker despised him in her heart. I understand that you get into a way of thinking depending on the type of church you grow up in, or what you were told. But when you really think about it, how can you really speak for God and a bunch of strangers you don't know? You can't say what is or is not spiritual, or how to "correctly" worship. Worship comes in many forms, and quite honestly I have partied for God and had fun while doing it! And it changed me and made me closer to Him. A few jumps here and there and it is suddenly unspiritual? Well honestly I would rather be unspiritual and worship God any way I can than be spiritual and worship God only one way because man said so!

Not sure why some dismiss this as something other than sincere worship. To do so requires you to unnecessarily assume two things: 1) That you know what is/is not in the hearts of the kids who are singing and dancing, and 2) That the power of the Holy Spirit is limited and could not possibly working in such a setting. I'm a 51 year old father of a teenager. I live a very conservative life and I LOVE what I see here. We should always be mindful to avoid placing God in a box that has dimensions as defined by OUR view of His power and grace. As far as this song or setting not being based in Scripture, I respectfully disagree. I see Psalms 100: "His love endures forever and his faithfulness continues through all generations." I also see 2 Samuel 6:14: "David...danced before the Lord with all his might." Well done young people! God is good!

God is the creator of all things and that includes music in all styles. Some of the same chords used in hymns songs are used in this type of songs but in a different rhythm. Jusus really turn my life around I am a convert, And this would never happen without my mother. I was so confused when I prayed to My God he would never answer me. My life was terrible. I was bullied for so long and as little as I was I wondered why would he want me to live through this pain? Doesn't he love me? What have I done wrong? Why has he written a bad life for me? I thought I could speak to her God. I didn't think Jesus I just thought God because at the time I didn't understand how it was possible for Jesus to be the Son of God. Life got more settled when I prayed like she did but I was still confused. I kept being tossed around trying to wrap my mind around it. I had no Image of God or Jesus I just knew of their existence, but at the age of 7 I dreamt that I woke up and saw this man who had long Brown hair and a long beard. He shone so bright but I could still see some of his features. He had a hand extended to me with this weird hole through it and said "Come to me my dear child." I will never forget that day. I don't know where I'd be now without my mother and I'd never be here seeing all these beautiful people who are blessing other people with their kind messages. I have learned so much from all of you building people up when they submit their problems. I've seen how you inspire people and I want you to have a terrific day wether you are here to hurt us or here to lift God's name up and spread positivity. Also to comment verses you find have helped you a lot through your struggles. I love all of you people who are here reading this and those just watching the video. May God bless you and use you to bring more people to God.

it makes me sad reading the comments that people criticize this song as not "holy enough". if you don't feel God's presence through this kind of music then listen to something else. Hillsong has a variety of song genres and obviously this is targeted to a much younger audience who doesn't get into religion as much as they use to. there is a purpose to hillsong y and f. and i get it. we youth who praise and love our God regardless of musical preferences GET IT.

And at the begining of the song, listen how the crowd is shouting "We want... Jesus... we want... Jesus... we want..." I guess they know Who they praying in that song !!!! =))))))) GLORY BE TO GOD !!!!!

omg guys ok so basically.. Young and Free is meant to reach out to the younger generation eg: teenagers. furthermore, it isnt like this song has no meaning, because God IS in our hearts forever. it's okay to make worship music more "hyped" or smtg like that because at the end of the day we all still worship the same God although we always have to remember to align our hearts with His :) and i wanna add that we shldnt try and "correct" each other in an "aggro" way and use a harsher tone because that isnt how we children of God are taught to respond to one another. we shld correct one another in love :)

I've been to one. It feels like a big ass concert lol

I cringed when I heard this kind of music as worship... but I listen to this kind of music that isn't Christian. I love trance. One of my favourite genre of music. So why shouldn't I love to worship God in that style! It has grown on me and I love this now! It is great to dance and have fun in God's presence with other believers. Good wholesome fun! I think this music is the best battle tactic to winning the Youth of our generation. They can see that Christians can have fun, and it's not all boring. Being a Christian is the best, most fulfilling, life you can live!

I heard this live at a Hillsong Conference in LA. SO AMAZING. When I first heard the songs from this album, I was a bit judgmental at first. I thought, "Oh great, they're changing styles. They don't sound like Hillsong anymore." But when I went to the conference, I was amazed at how passionate the people were for The Lord. Because of that, I fell in LOVE with this song. It reminded me that worship doesn't always have to be slow and emotional and all that stuff. Worship can be fun. It can be passionate. I can't wait to see those guys again. God bless Hillsong. They are doing a great work in the lives of this generation.

I've been in Minnesota teen challenge fighting my addiction for close to a year Now, after almost dying from my addiction multiple times i called out to God knowing i couldn't live in the darkness anymore. .so God saved me with his amazing grace and now i not only say I'm saved but that I'm a child of God!!

I remember, Youth Camp 2016, we went to our bunks put our stuff away then went straight to the worship center and this was the first song of camp!

I'm so blessed and hype that our God is not boring! Hahahahahah! still listening to it in 2015. Never gets old.

I really wish I could go to one of this summercamps and concerts it looks really fun. AND THEY SAY WE (christians) ARE BORING! XD

Robiiee Queen lol yeah ikr, when this church that I play soccer at has like every sport in the book on their property. Instead of getting high and stuff like the rest of the world, we get high off the holy spirit which is God. Making us naturally happy instead of using all these drugs.
