WAKE ISLAND RAID
WAKE ISLAND RAID 31 MAY 1944
The 30th Bomb Group moved to Kwajalein, Marshall Islands in March 1944 and raided airfields and naval bases in the Truk Islands to keep them neutralized before and during the amphibious attack on the Marianas; also bombed Wake Island, Guam and Saipan. The Group was inactivated in Hawaii on 25 June 1946.
On 11 September 1944 38th Bomb Squadron B-24J “THE CHAMBERMAID” was heavily damaged by flak and Japanese fighters over Iwo Jima and was forced to crash land at Saipan with wheels up and engines running at full power. The aircraft was a total loss.

You may be right, but I'm not sure it is - it would have to be huge. I suspect they are dredged channels ... especially the upper one (note the headland shape and the channel heading away at the 8 o'clock. As for the lower one, I suspect it's a surface item again

I think what you are seeing is channels dug by tha Japanese so the their mini subs could make there way in the harbour.
