Everyone has been sleeping on understudies, standbyes Take over rolls Loren Lott is amazing…. She by far has one of the best ranges in the industry. If you heard her in this role, y’all were truly blessed.

I love how that one guy keeps "ugh-ing" every time she slays 😂

Personally, I thought Hailey's energy as Ti Moune was more engaging and in-character, and that's why she got cast, but I saw them both, and man. Man oh man. Loren can sing, and she can sing almost unrivaled to anyone I've seen on broadway. Give this girl her own show!!!

Also thank you to who ever filmed this, cause finding videos of Loren in this role is like finding a needle in a haystack

Hailey is awesome and I love her but... This girls got PIPES. I saw her on her first night as ti moune and this girl slays. She was a perfect ti moune and had a beautiful cry btw

Loren Lott has very very nice placement. She creates a lot of coins in the mask area which I love. She switched up a lot of the notes for her 2nd performance. She is very good

I'm going to see the show the day of the Tony's, and I wasn't sure what understudies might be going on. Long story short, I think the show's going to be in good hands with or without Hailey!

Her belt is killer, but I'd offer that it may be reason why she's not the principal. Ti moune has to be more than just belt. It's possible that Hailey's physicality and voice is more suited for the character of a young unexperienced girl on an island coming into womanhood like Ti moune. Loren's body and voice doesn't necessary lend it's self to that the singular character. It should be noted that Loren is also listed as the understudy for Asaka and Andrea...these roles would need a strong physicality and the belt that she appears to have. But your right, what a KILLER belter!

Sean-Maurice Lynch that was a great analysis! I have clue why I cover Asaka lol. I’m praying I never have to go on! I’m really tiny lol also Hailey Kills this role!!!! we do it completely different. Her Timoune is definitely a little taller than mine also I am older so I work a little harder to play it young. I look like 13 with the teams help! They hide my boobs and butt everything lol. I’m still surprised I cover her. I NEVER auditioned for the role and I didn’t think I was capable. But after doing the role I feel like I can do anything! I know my principal role is next 💙💚

Sean-Maurice Lynch It’s funny because Loren’s tone reminds me more of LaChanze. On “We’ll drive” when Loren and LaChanze sing it it’s like the doors of heaven are opening. Still, I think Hailey brings a special naïveté and spontaneity to it that can be heard in her vocals and probably helps with the way they wanted to depict the character in this production. Everyone is fabulous! And - I love the gender neutral and open ethnicity understudying ❤️

I’d see what y’all are saying but I see little to no character in her performance, just really good vocals. I think hailey was the right choice for opening the show. Loren is a great understudy

I feel like it's not really fair to judge character off of this performance, this is more of a concert so it is expected that she'd focus more on the vocals. They're both very talented!!
