    Awesome series, so much information. Totally newb player, only played a couple times but managed to stay ahead through sheer luck since I can barely understand anything beyond "7 is bad, bet the pass line". I think I bet the 6 and 8 three times total. LOL No idea how people can think this fast and keep everything straight for multiple players at a time. Crazy-good skills! This channel and Color Up is really putting out useful, valuable and helpful content for people like me. Even being able to see if a dealer is being lazy or loose at a particular table is valuable. Quick question hope to get an answer a little new to craps trying to learn how to bet right last time i was in Vegas another player told me to always make my odds an even number he told me when I was on a 15 dollar table and I dropped 15 in odds on my pass bet to drop a dollar to make it an even 16 if I’m on a 15 dollar table do I always make a place bet on 6 or 8 in 6 dollar increment

  • @eightinches3671

    Surprised nobody answered you yet. If the point is 5 or 9 your odds bet should be an even number, something that is evenly divisible by 2. Like $10, $12, $14, $20 etc. because it pays 3-2 which is the same as one and a half times. If you bet $5 odds when the point is 5 or 9, yes, $5 is divisible by 2 but it's $2.50 and the casino doesn't have 50 cent chips. All the other numbers can be in any amount.

    Thanks for showing things from the dealers side. As a player how do I know the dealer is ready for me to make a place bet, move or change an existing bet? I must be confusing if for or five players are all trying to have the dealer service them at the same time.

  • @CasinoQuest

    @CasinoQuest

    If possible, know your position on the table. The dealer will attend to players by default in their order from stick to base. On the come out roll or on a 7 out, the dealer will take and pay from Base to stick, but when it comes to actually servicing a players requests for place bets etc, they will try to do this in order from stick to base. When the dice are in the middle, you are welcome to place your bet in the Come area directly in front of you and announce your bet when the dealer is not verbally interacting with another player, dealer or boss. Even if you are out of order, the dealer should at least be able to acknowledge your bet and let you know that they will return to you if they are already busy. At least this way your bet is in the mix. - David

    Great video! Do dealers always ensure there's a cap on 6/8 place bets, equal to the number of units in the bet?

  • @CasinoQuest

    @CasinoQuest

    3 жыл бұрын

    Its not always possible to physically see the cap, but a good dealer should know the cap. For example, $54 place bet on 6 has a $9 cap (54/6 =9 & 9 X 7 = $63 payoff), but there are only 4 aces and 2 green cheques that make up the bet. A dealer will offset the $4, but the "cap" is really $9. Knowing the caps on 6 and 8 can help with straight presses, unit presses, identifying lay bet payoffs on 6 and 8 and also how to determine comparable place bets on 5 and 9 (If you want to know what you need to bet on the 5, that equals your payoff on the 6, just deduct the cap. Lets say you have $96 place bet on 6 and you want to place a 5 that pays the same. Just deduct the cap of $16, giving you $80. $80 on the 5 pays $112, as does $96 on the 6.) - David

    @@CasinoQuest can you do a lay bet on a come out roll? If so, I assume if a 7 is rolled you get paid? If so, what would a lay bet of $100 pay on an 8? $100 bet pay on a 9? $100 bet pay on a10? Thanks!

  • @jimklemens5018

    @@miker6402 A Lay bet can be made before any roll and it is always working unless you take it down. A Lay bet on the 6 or 8 should be made in multiples of $6. They pay 5:6. A Lay bet on the 5 or 9 should be in multiples of $3. They pay 2:3. A Lay bet on the 4 or 10 should be in multiples of $2. They pay 1:2.

    I may have missed it, but is there a “dealer indicate” video? Played the other night and the player next to me knew the dealer. They had a casual conversation the entire time. I’m new to craps and was trying one of the Color Up strategies. It was very distracting. The dealer even gave me a wrong payout (in the house favor) and was called out by the boxman. I should have just pulled my bets and left the table.

    Can you explain what you mean by the "cap"? Why is the cap for a $96 = $16?

  • @CasinoQuest

    @CasinoQuest

    2 жыл бұрын

    A couple way to look at the cap! If you divide 96 by 6 it equals 16, which is useful since it can help you get to the answer of how it pays. You can either multiply it by 7 and get the answer or and the cap to the whole bet to get the answer. Although most dealers know the unit presses from 6 to 60, which are all the cap you need to know to know every cap in existence. As dealers it's very useful to know these for really high units. Easy example is if you have 960 dollar 6 well we know the cap is going to be 160. So add those together and you got 1120 - Dennis

  • @skyedge3407

    @skyedge3407

    6 ай бұрын

    @@Makai_Falcon Since I asked this I went through a craps dealer school which took about 2.5 months. Most payouts can be figured out in a simple formula such as 9:5 is 1.8x, 7:5 is 1.4x, 6:5 is 1.2x, 3:2 is 1.5x and so on. You can multiply these in your head. On the 6/8 place bets the payout is 7:6, which if you put into a calculator equals 1.16666666~. Not so easy. So they place a cap on the bet (divide bet by 6 to find cap) and multiply that amount times 7 to get the 7:6 payout. Colors or pieces method works on the pass line bet with odds well. For example Point is 5, player has $525 pass line with $2100 odds. Max odds (4x the pass line bet). Break down the $525 into a $500 + $25 chip. Payout is 7x (pieces) $500 and 7x (pieces) $25. $3675. Or if you do the math, 3:2 (1.5x) payout of the odds $2100 = $3150, add the 1:1 line bet of $525, equals $3675. Pieces or math. The payout is the same.
