I'm not one of the guys who just hates everything Disney Star Wars, but this show has just pissed me off. It is so bad in just about every aspect that I cannot even watch it anymore. This was made by people who do not know enough, or care enough about the franchise to be good at it. Headland recently said in an interview that the girls were not the vergance, that the witches made them using the force with the vergance boosting their power, which means they succeeded where the two most powerful dark side users failed in creating life. It's just so poorly done and so much of it makes absolutely no sense, they are shoving what should be a hour long TV drama style script into a sitcom 30 minute time frame, much to the detriment of an already poorly executed production. If I was Bob Iger, I'd be auditing the budget to find out where the money actually went. It wouldn't surprise me if Headland's wife were getting paid an inordinately huge amount that far outstrips her terrible acting ability.

It's bad for people who SOMEHOW like Acolyte. Disney Star Wars had some moments, but for some reason, they always pass. Acolyte is just a terrible show, end of story. Be it because of terrible writing, bad characters, or just ticking boxes, take your pick - all are symptoms of a very bad show.

I've actually enjoyed the show so far (Just finished episode 7) I thought it had some good characters (e.g Soul and Qimir) and it is definitely a change of pace from a lot of star wars, but the actual base line story is fairly well thought out I think. However I am not a fan of the way the unreliable narrator trope was handled it wasn't great imo. Plus Amanda Stenberg isn't a particularly convincing lead. But I have to say I really liked Mother Aniseya (Played by Jodie turner smith) as I thought she was one of the first actually mother like characters we've had in star wars and I personally think it was sending a good message. Though this is just my opinion and I am not saying either of our opinions are better I just think it's interesting how one can watch the same show and have a completely different experience to another.

It’s a cookie cutter story with some of the worst star wars choreography to date. These shows have been on a downward spiral since mandalorian s2 and anyone with brains knows this.

​​@@lilpunk-_- also have you actually watched all the acyolte? Episode 5 has some decent choreography admittedly it does have its flaws such as Qimir being able with a single blade to fight like 4 people at once and its definitely no prequels in terms of choreography but it's decent.

How is this bad? People dont like the show so bad ratings is the best way to show Lucasfilm that people dont like show. This is just capitalism at work because bad shows get bad ratings.

It wasn't great but sure it wasn't as horrendous as this.

They also made the same mistake that The Bad Batch season 3 made where there's one episode left and still a lot to resolve. I'm not sure how they're going to have enough time to wrap things up if the episode is under an hour.

This is great news IMO. It shows what people really want. If I were Disney, I would reconsider that R-rated Boba Fett movie. We should all watch Deadpool and Wolverine in theater to show Disney this kind of movie is something we really want and earns them money. IMO, episode 7 of the Acolyte is 10 times worse than the speeder crawl chase in BOBF.

I feel like this show was sold as we’re going out “mystery box”Mr. mystery box. Fans will want to see a season two because they’ll be so many unanswered mysteries. Except they forgot to make it interesting enough for us to care.

The jedi Brat had like 19, just as Anakin in episode 2, after 10 years he should have 29, anakin in episode 3 was 21, 8 years of difference... then he took a strict vote for 10 years... 8 years of diffrenece and 10 years of a restrict vote should be something, what piss me off is the bouble.

possible synopsis E8: Sol convinces Mae to tell him where to finde the hideout of Quimir and they both travel there. Meanwhile, through the magic cortosis helmet, Osha remembers what had happend during her time training with the Jedi. Sol, afraid of her growing power and impulsiveness used a mindtrick on her to convince her that she can't use the force. That resulted in her quitting the Jedi training to live a "normal" life. This and Quimirs revelation, that the Jedi killed her mother and all the other witches, will turn her to the dark side. Then follows a confrontation between Sol and Quimir and Mae and Osha, which will result in a happy end for the twins. We will also learn thar Quimir, once a Jedi himself, fled the order because of his abusive teacher Vernestra Rwoh. It was she, who gave him this scares with her whip. So now we know, that there where no Sith involved, just an ex-Jedi, longing for revenge aginst the Jedi. Maybe we will also learn, that there was an other shadowy power orchestrating everything from a distance, possibly Mother Koril or ... Darth Plagueis.

If we buy into the madness of this show for a second. The Korril character is pretty weak. She is barely able to hit an unarmed Sol who is in shock at what he has just done to Mother Anasaya but we're meant to believe she has trained the super powerful Qimir who solos like 7 jedi and does overpower Sol as well in lightsaber combat. Alright 16 years have passed but where is she meant to have gotten the skills and knowledge to train someone like Qimir in lightsaber combat (Alright he was a jedi apparently but he didnt get that good learning from the jedi) No I have to think that for there to be any semblance of plausibility to this Qimir must have been trained by Darth Tenebrous or Plagueis (He may even be Plagueis maybe they will drop the Muun thing who knows). I would even believe Vernestra being his master as she seems powerful and the scars do look like they could have come from a whip. It does look as though the Scimitar was docked on the unknown planet. This was Plagueis's ship. Darth Plagueis and Bane are the only canon Sith Lords other than the ones we meet from Sidious onwards (I believe Tenebrous is not yet canon but could be soon)

Yoda: "Size matters not." Sol is just bad Jedi, he can't even properly wield the Force. I doesn't matter the walkway is hundred of pounds in weight, when well trained Jedi is able to keep it without any phisical strain.

There no hope on Star Wars since Disney and kathleen kennedy have ruined this franchise

After yawning my way through Episodes 1 and 2, I decided not to go back. Then I heard about the massive lore break of a Sith declaring himself a Sith and attacking Jedi when the entire galaxy is supposed to believe the Order is a thousand years dead and buried for another hundred years, and I'm like... nope. I won't be giving this series any further attention. If this trend continues, I may even stop watching Star Wars entirely, and I've loved the sagas since I was a kid.

The lightsaber fight was good and the first episode. Everything else has been rough

Even more embarrassing when I'm fairly certain most of the 180 million that went into the show was advertising. Not just because the quality of the show itself hardly reflects 180 million at all, but I see ads for the show everywhere. On bus stops, billboards, tv ads etc. It's the only time my mother has ever asked me "am I watching this new Star Wars show" because it even frequently pops up on her radar, even tho she has no interest in Star Wars at all. I have a feeling they knew the quality wasn't there and it would receive a lot of negative critical and public reception so they just banked hard on picking up as many viewers as they could through advertising to make the show look like a success artificially. And I think it did for the first episode, I remember hearing reports that it was one of the highest viewed premiers of all the Star Wars shows on Disney+, but as these stats show, that high viewership initially was not retained whatsoever.

I severely doubt that chart’s accuracy! I love Andor., however there’s no way Andor outperformed Ahsoka at the time. The Ahsoka series despite its issues had a buzz around it, and a lot of positive fan’s supporting it. It garnered more views per content than anything D+ besides Mando season 1 & 2, and Marvel Deadpool 3 trailers etc. Even Ashoka reactions were blowing up averaging everywhere neting 340k views per reaction. Haven’t seen any D+ content get that level of support since!

Disney: lets ruin star wars KK: OK, THE FORCE IS FEMALE. Disney: Let's alienate our former fans. KK: Sure, get lesyle to direct a show.

This show was a scam. People definitely stole and pocketed the funding because there's no way 180m went to this. And to say that this is part of SW is an abomination for a fact. Anyone who likes this isn't a SW fan and doesn't follow the continuity of the story from the start. If you did, you'd hate this for messing up the story.

The biggest problem is that Disney Star Wars has been nothing but FORGETFUL!!

I've not watched the show, but the synopsis from all the reviews I've seen coupled with the actors interviews brings me to the conclusion that this show's theme is "There is no such thing as good and evil" only those who wield power. Seems counterintuitive to everything George Lucas established originally in the Lore of "Light Side" vs "Dark Side." I would think rewriting established themes within a fiction is enough to upset an established decades long fanbase.

Welp, we're just going to get more Skywalker-era stuff thanks to this. 🤦

Here is the difference between Osha/Mae and Anakin, and I do think it's critically important and shows that Headland was not trying to detract from the Anakin's story. Osha/Mae were created by Mother Aniseya using the glut of power available from the vergence in the force, located on Brendok. Anakin was created by the Force itself and is _himself_ a vergence in the force. These are not the same thing. To use Christian mythology because I grew up with it. This is like the difference between the prophets who have received divine communication from God, and Jesus who was created by and is God himself.

Lesbians made the twins, lesbians are the vergence, palp and playgy going gay in season two lol

Anakin was not given the rank of Master, because his Padawan never achieved the rank of Knight, and he didn't take another. That is what transitions a Jedi from Knight to Master, successfully training a padawan to Knighthood. We saw Obi Wan go from Padawan to a Master sitting on the High Council over the course of just 13 years. We see that Ahsoka was consider by the high council to be ready to step into Knighthood after less than 3 years with Anakin. 6 years is a believable span of time for Torbin to have achieved Knighthood, taken a Padawan and successfully trained _them_ to Knighthood. I can even imagine how it went. Torbin probably rededicated himself to Indara's teachings as the first thing he tried to deal with the guilt and shame he obviously feels about the incident on Brendok. Then he saw the training of a Padawan as a new opportunity to walk the narrow path of the Jedi. After his Padawan became a Knight, he was still tormented by his feelings of guilt and shame and thus took the vow of silence and entered his force meditation for the remaining 10 years that passed before the beginning of the show. This just isn't a plot-hole like the weird decision to show us Sol clearly having enough power to save both twins, but inexplicably only saving one.

Training a padawan isn't the only way to become a master. In legends Saessee Tinn never took a padawan and he still became a master, and I think this still holds up in canon. That being said, I still think it is a bit weird to call Torbin a master. I am wondering how he would have distinguished himself. I doubt we will get an answer on that

@@dwarfking-01pwa91 I'm not gonna die on this hill, but I tend to only take G and T cannon seriously, so that's what I was reasoning from. I'm really just assuming that because none of them got in trouble, that Torbin would have had plenty of time to become a Knight and train a Padawan. And whether there was another way to become a master, successfully training a padawan to knighthood is a surefire explanation for him being referred to as Master in the 'present' of the show.

Star Wars is being bled dry. I wish we could fix copyright law to be 25 years after creation of a work (and make it retroactive) so that we wouldn't get these huge companies camping on all of this IP only to squander all of the potential.

I’m sorry for the franchise. Been watching since 77. This is crap. Hopefully they will forget about it and never use as part of canon.

Personally I like the Acolyte. I do have problems with it. And I think episode 7 was pointless. I’m still trying to figured out that Torbin did .-.! I give episode 1-4 about 3.5 stars, episode 5 gets 4.5 stars. Episode 6 get 4 stars. Episode 7 get half a star tho

Andor is really good.

Its not a great show. Its got some great scenes but ultimately I think the word that describes it best is , Disconnected. Disconnected from episode to episode and disconnected from the fans , sadly.

Acolyte could of be phenomenal there is great actors in there ..some fight scenes were entertaining but the leaders, the writers the direction and the path they took was full amatureness , boredom, made great actors look idiotic and very cheap like Netflix children channel kids shows, this is appalling 180mil on what ..jedi picking up flowers ..and really bad story telling. Hate to say this but you can so tell Lesley projected her own views on star wars not what the audience and star wars fan wanted.

So when're the star wars youtube channels finally going to realise people aren't just hating the acolyte beacuse they're wacist. Show is garbage.

its not a great show HOWEVER, i've never seen a piece of media so firebombed (including silly new snow white) in recent times.. when an episode is meh..it confirms every critics statement i think this show was just doubly hobbled .. like i said i've got no stake in this my final verdict will come in a few days ..lol i overall feeling though ... this is a well meaning, but ham fisted attempt at storytelling but i;d like to see the wrap ...
