WAIT!!! Does FIRE Starting Paracord Work
Ойын-сауық
#camping #outdoors #paracord
nothing but wet tinder and need to get a fire going. Reach for some fire starting paracord. It comes with an extra strand inside infused with wax making an easily ignitable tinder. 550 paracarod is a staple in any bushcraft or survival kit take it one step further and carry the firestarting cordage. Would be an excellent addition to any pack for hiking, camping, or a bug out bag. It's readily available and most outdoor stores.

Thats great stuff. Yours has a fatty fire cord, mine is thinner in survival cord but it has sewing thread, fishing line also. Either are awesome to have.

I definitely wanna get ahold of that survival cord you have. That stuff looked amazing. I was impressed with how well this worked to be honest. 7$ at a hardware store for 50 feet lol

Sooo, you have to cut up your string everytime you want to start a fire? Wouldnt it be more sensible to bring a length of waxed string (or waxed paper or cloth for that matter) and a coil of regular old Paracord?
@JTDOutdoors
Жыл бұрын
you don't have to its an emergency fire starter. and it takes a inch of cordage it's not like your cutting all your paracord into pieces
Yep that's in the cart now.
Thanks!

@executivebog771 right everything's usd then there's duties amd customs it's a nightmare lol. Trying to buy canadian products is a challenge on its own as most good quality gear comes from the US. I appreciate the support. Seasons just beginning I have some big plans this year.
I bought that same type of rope for years, I’ve never had an issue.. I keep 30 feet for a quick deploy ridge line, 4 10 foot sections for random camp tools/tie downs, a 25 foot section for a backup section, and a 5 foot section I can use for tinder if I can’t find anything dry enough. That’s how I break down 2 50 foot sections of it for my pack since it weighs nothing..

So just use an inch of it for the firestarter, you’re gonna have a lot of survival problems little guy
@oddballdynamics.9658

@@Damndamn01 This particular para cord also has fishing line and snare wire. An inch won't do much for fishing or as a snare will it? I carry brick line, fishing line and tender so I don't have to take apart my cordage.
@g.rodriguez7445

@@Damndamn01 I second what this man says. Use it primarily as cordage. If you really want to start a fire use 2 inches or so, you don't need much. Remember Paracord is string that multiplies... If you need 16 feet, divide 16 by 7 and you get a little over 2~ So cut about a 27in strand (yes I used rounding). Take the cordage apart and attach the pieces end to end.
I see the POSITIVE Benefits of it, What would the NEGATIVES be about the fire starting Paracord. TY Big Jim New Hampshire USA aka BOSTON STRONG

negatives I could see is your using your cordage which pn its own is extremely valuable

Be mindful not all of them have waxed. I bought some shit from basspro in Memphis and the shit is just a regular peice of jute twine, tho it does have a strand of monofilament too
