    Ah the long awaited review! Nice to see you’re progress. Well done ! Since your first video I have gone and picked up a wahoo kickr and started zwifting... I’m a full on zwift addict! Still on level 12, but making slow steady gains! Thanks for the video! And Ride on!

    I won a Wahoo Core in a raffle a few days ago... it hasn't even arrived, but I am getting SO EXCITED to use it after watching the videos you and others have shared about your experience! My bike hung in the garage for about 15 years, but I started riding again about a year ago and I think this indoor setup is going to help me take my riding to a level I never imagined!

    Great video, and very helpful for me as I have progressed from a "dumb" trainer (Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roll mark 1) to a "semi-smart" trainer (Kurt Road Machine Smart), that only transmits power data, to now being ready to hit the "Buy" button on a direct drive trainer, so that things actually get harder on Zwift hills, rather than me just plodding along but seeing my online speed getting slower. I've decided on the Kickr Core and, while all the snazzy tech info from DC Rainmaker and Shawn GP Lama have been absolutely stupendous, it was really helpful to hear you relate your personal experience of using the Kickr Core in conjunction with Zwift. Until recently, I would only ride my dumb trainer if there was cycling or rugby to watch on TV, but recently (past 2 weeks) I have found Zwift really motivating. With the reactive experience of a direct drive trainer, like you I hope to do a lot more structured workouts. Keep the videos coming! I know they take a lot of work.

    For a fan, can I suggest you get a decent Gym fan. I got an Arlec ABF200GB (catchy name) out of Homebase for £25. It's 50cm, floor mounted and produces a gale at high speed setting. I only use it on setting one and it's great. Well up to the job of keeping me cool up that Alpe Du Zwift!

  • @royevans4581

    @royevans4581

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ALittleBitAnouska Just to add a bit of info. on my experience of it. The fan seems to move a larger volume of air towards you in a breezy way if you know what I mean, so you are not getting a narrow blast of air coming at you, like a Dyson would for example. It gives you that evaporative cooling you need, without being uncomfortable. Being a large diameter fan it is fairly quiet too. Oh, I confess I am not as yet a full fledged Alpe Du Zwifter haha. I am new to these trainers as you are aware, and I just found out the trainer in Zwift is set to 50 percent assist on climbs, so that Alpe Du zwift run I did last was as if I had a 50 tooth sprocket on the back lol. I actually thought it was a bit easy, in terms of gearing, so I'm quite chuffed the trainer will be up to the job of re-creating the proper experience when I'm fit enough to try it at full resistance. Really enjoyed the ride up there though, and without that slider thingy I would have blown up, so it's good they have it. I'll just decrease the assist as I go and it will be a great training tool. Allez Allez!

    It's great to see females cycling - it took me a while to convince my sister to cycle with me, but she just got a new job that allows her to safely bike commute so she's been cycling to her workplace for the past month or so (she's on my old Avanti Giro C2 that is pretty much the same celeste colour as your Bianchi! It goes without saying that she loves it 😁). I've now been trying to convince my sister about indoor trainers - I think you ran through it very well and in plain language that most people can understand (I'll probably have to explain watts and cadence to her but that's simple), so I'm intending to show your video to her tomorrow! 👍

    Do you not normally use a sweat guard for your bike? I use one, and I've got a dedicated 16 year old turbo bike, but for this one that looks very new, I'd be wanting to keep that corroding sweat off of the frame and bolts. As an aside, I know you are using Zwift, but have you tried RGT? They have a free membership, and if you pay the £6.99 a month, you can utilise magic roads, which is a bit like what you were talking about riding actual rides where the turbo simulates the gradient - in this case it will do it, but also provide you some auto generated scenery to match those gradients, and you can also ride it with other people, or with the in app 'bots' should you wish :-)

    Hi Dan! Thank you so much for your comment! I actually do normally use one but I was filming my bike, forgot to put it on then instantly regretted doing so haha! I refuse to leave my bike once I am in the swing as otherwise my legs feel utterly dead lol! I actually use a super cheap one from Chain Reaction by Lifeline. It makes all the difference for sure! I havent tried RGT but I'll look into it for sure! Perhaps that would be a good next video! Thank you for the advice!

    Considering the Core but I’ve heard other comments that because the bike is slightly offset to the right compared to the units legs, there is a bit of lean. Hard to tell but watching people’s videos it almost looks like when standing on the pedals or pushing hard there is a slight lean to the right on each stroke. Have you experienced this? Like your video but it would also be good to hear the trainer without any music overlay just to hear how noisy or quiet it is. Thanks,

  • @ALittleBitAnouska

    @ALittleBitAnouska

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. It does sit on the side and whilst it doesn't have any lean at all you are aware that it isn't centred which can trick your mind a little. You do need to make sure it is nice and tight on the trainer though to avoid any lean :) Noise wise the trainer itself is very quiet but my Bianchi does give some noise off from the chair for sure!
