    These are my favorite liners of all time. I bought 4 of them and every single one cut amazing right out the box. I was able to get sharp lines on kids and adults without scratching them. Only problem is that the housing is very cheaply made. Every single one broke by where the blades go. When I got down to the last one, i treated it with extreme care, laying it down softly taking them out lightly and they still broke.

    I have a model 8991 the silver and black sterling stylist trimmers, and I'd used them all of 3 times before they shorted out on me while trying to blend a very thick haired client. Any tips on this exact model would be appreciated because I'd rather tinker with it than buy a whole new one because it's still in perfect condition

  • @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi. this model is 8081 but i think yours will take the same parts but you have a different model number bc of the color. You should send back for warranty .Either the switch fuse blew out bc of the resistance from the thick hair or to much oil got inside of the motor and shorted the motor out and blew the switch fuse out. If you order a new switch i recommend putting a new switch in it and after hooking it up by soldering it to the motor and cord, have it in the on position. Plug it in for a half of a second and unplug it. if it makes a burning sound then it'll need a new motor to bc the motor got toasted by the oil and will blow out the new switch fuse again.

  • @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hello . Thank you for watching. If the cutter blade is moving then you will need to buy a guide for the blade if they are available or buy a new blade. If the whole blade is moving around on the trimmer then you will need to open to see why the metal inserts are moving and may need a bottom housing to fix it. Hope i helped

    It's possible that it cracked the housing that holds everything together. Take the blade off and check the housing under where the blade sits. If you see any cracks, that's your issue.

    +Preston Henderson Thank you. Haha that is a hard question to answer without out knowing what equipment you use. I've trained lots of people and its not as easy as it looks for them to figure out. You have to have the right pressure pushing on the blade without hollowing out to much in the middle of the blade. You have to pull the blade off the spinning wheel correctly without damaging the teeth, if not pulled off evenly it won't cut all the way across the blade. Never use a stone it has no shape to it and blades need that to cut correctly.. I have videos of me sharpening on my equipment, on my channel and my website. Thanks for watching.

  • @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    8 жыл бұрын

    +romedc Well hard to diagnose in a message. Check and make sure there's tension on the blade. If there is not it is the bottom case. It can be the blade guide is melted. It can also be the blade needing a sharpening and re-polish its surface. It also can just need oil on the blade. If all that is good then it will be a shot bearing in the motor and will need to be replaced with a new motor. If there not very old send back to Wahl for warranty. Well.Well good luck and have a nice day.

  • @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    +Christopher Diaz Well usually that problem happens from not oiling your blade and the motor has to work harder. It over heats. You will need to replace pcb with the motor. Have you ever got the blade sharpened? If not it will need to be done.

    Anthony Garcia Since it sounds like the physical switch. If you replace the pcb/switch board it will work but if the fuse is blown out you will have to replace the motor also to prevent a new switch shorting out. I am not responsible if I am wrong. I can fix it if you can't. Good luck.

    northweezie1 hello. The blade inserts are turning inside the case. So you will have to take off the top of the case and use needle nose plyers to hold the nut from turning and then you will need to replace the housing.

    You cant make them more powerful unless you mess with the voltage. You can have them cleaned and sharpened. It will make them like new if nothing is broken on them.
