Oil the blades before you screw them together. Then you can put the oil exactly where it got to be without excess. Do trimmers like "Wahl detailers wide" cut shorter than the balding blade?

Hi Gary. Thanks for you feedback and question. Apologies for the delayed response its been a crazy week. Yes you can keep the bail arm if you wish. To do that you won't need to change the bracket on your cordless magic clip and should be able to just do a straight blade swap. Hope this help mate.

@@egotisticalquan7247 i never went with it. Trimmers these days are powerful enough to bald a hair out. Try buying Babylyss skeleton trimmers

Nice, I have wahl predator thats i used the 0000 5 blade on so (0.4mm) but hat ethe fact i have to be connect to a plug, was thinking to do this with a cordless magic clip, is the balding blade the same length as the predator 00000 blade?

Hey mate! I've not used the Predator before myself so did a little research and it appears the blading blade is the same length at 0.4mm. I have found that when this conversion is done with the Staggertooth back blade from the cordless Magic Clip it cuts closer than if you were to use a Wahl Senior/Super Taper back blade. I hope this helps.

@@razrsharpuk7487 the pedator is a powerful rotary motor like that new mentor. I just wish it was cordless to to compete with the Oster OCtanes. Im looking for a cordless balding clipper without the octane/zolt/supra prices. So I this conversion is the next thing.

I've had a look and haven't been able to find an online supplier that sells it separately by itself as yet but I would suggest calling Wahl directly as their parts department I've found to be very helpful in locating or selling specific parts. Alternatively you could do the conversion by keeping the magic clip slide and bail arm in place and just switching the blade. I personal like to remove the bail arm so I don't confuse it with my other Magic Clips. I hope this helps.

Did you have to use the screws off the magic clip at the end or the balding blade screws to fix the blades in place?

Mr J you can use either of the screws from the magic clip or balding blade.

did you have to buy the rail or it just fits on the factory wahl magic cordless rail?

Zuljanah Raspect the balding blade will fit with the Magic Clip rail but you’ll have to keep the nail arm on. If you don’t want to have the bail arm then you’ll have to use the rail from the original balding clipper.

Can I just buy the blade and put it on the magic clip or do I need the housing from the balders as well?

Zambra GK Yes you can do that if you wish. I chose to do the full conversion as the original balding clipper doesn’t have a bail arm.

So you're saying there is a blade that is similar to the balding clip that I can buy and attach to my magic clip without having to remove the whole housing (bail arm)?

So everything has gone to plan but the balding clipper blade doesn’t seem to be aligned/zero gapped after I do the conversion. Any advice?

Hmm I'm not sure why that would be as I was able to zero gap mine without any issues. Have you tried slightly loosening the screws to get the blade aligned first before tightening them? I hope that isn't a stupid question it's just hard to advice without see the issue.

Can you do a video about converting the cordless wahl to corded ? note: that would be the ony way to repair mines , please and thanks

Now I don't believe that is possible as the internal circuitry is different, however if your cordless aren't working properly then www.barberblades.co.uk sell the internal battery pack if that's any help.

Yes you can just with the blade if you wish. I wanted my conversion to look true to the original Balding clipper design where it had no bail arm. In order to do this you have to change all the parts as in this video. I guess it a matter of personal preference.

The teeth of the balding blade are so short that you cant use the lever anyhow.

Why remove the taper lever, to make single purpose clippers? That seems a bit silly

I don’t think it’s silly as Wahl originally made the corded balding clipper as a single use clipper. This conversion if for those who have multiple clippers like me who don’t mind have a dedicated clipper to bald out faster than using a trimmer due to the higher power and larger clipper blade coverage. It can also be used for shape ups 😉

Bro you don’t have to take off the arm from the other clipper

That's true bro. I did it as I wanted it to reflect the look of the original Balding clipper that didn't have a bail arm as I don't use it for any blending work. Its just my personal preference.
