Love this product. I did a bunch of research before settling on the Wahl 5-Star shaver. Everyone said it was the best shaver for black men. Though I occasionally still get some minor razor bumps, this shaver is far and away the best I've owned. I've had it for like five years now and it still works perfectly - I've replaced the blades maybe once or twice and the foil once. Definitely worth the money.

I had the red one for around 6 months and even though it was good, I thought it could have been better, although I decided to invest in the finale version and it is perfect, it fixed all of the problems and I am really happy with it thanks for improving such an amazing product

Great review, first one to state it requires a two step process and is designed to cut stubble in place of a razor. Also the first one that speaks of cleaning with a disinfectant. 😉👍

Grabbed this and it definitely helps make tapers and bald fades look extra crisp.

Man my dad not being around i didnt know we couldn't use razors. I have tried razors and then when that kept breaking me out i went to the hair removal creams. That caused chemical burns. Finally got online did research and found these. They are good for black men who cannot use razors fr. I shave first with my clippers. Then go over my face with these. Cleanest clost shave. And like bruh said dont press down hard on ur face and use a slow smooth rhythm. They work. I would not have wasted my time cosigning for this item.

0:45 it only cuts stubble. This is the statement I’ve been looking for to make sure! Need to trim by my beard line without botching up my beard in accident! Thanks!

This comments are blowing my mind. I love the shaver only problem is I'm on my 3rd pair in three years. I use it for shaving my head after I have already cut it down to stubble. I was replacing the foil every few months. The battery went out on my last pair and would only work plugged in. First pair wouldn't hold a charge at all after about 8 months or so. I love the shavers just wish they were better quality. Maybe I wasn't pressing soft enough?

It sounds as though you are pressing too hard! We can also suggest switching to the Finale which has a lithium-ion battery if you are using this tool frequently.

Make sure that you trim the hair down to a short stubble before using the shaver to finish it off.

Great video, great product. 5 Star Finale is the newer version.

Mine lasted a little over a year until the solder on the battery broke loose. The charging cable does not hold well so they are retired. Wish they lasted as long as my other clippers/shapers

theory74 I use the Wahl G-Whiz trimmer. The little battery operated one. It's not hard on the skin and it's sharp enough where you can line up your beard.

My barber uses this shaver in me and I am impressed. Where can I find it and I'd also like to have some good clippers to trim down longer hairs before I do the close shave. Can you recommend a wahls trimmer?

MaeSekou Sold at your local Sally Beauty Supply! The Hero or Detailers would be great trimmers to help get hair down to a close stubble.

Bought this shavers today to help me keep my head shaved. Using a razor everyday gets to be a bit much. I'm unimpressed with it. The shaver can't even get the little amount of stubble that I have on my head. 1 out 5 stars.

These would work really well for a head shave if you are looking to go completely bald. It is important to note that all hair must first be down to a stubble before using.

If you want a clean shave, then hair will need to be down to a stubble. If you are looking to clean up the stragglers, you can use this shaver over the top of hair.

I know this is really random but the Wahl team should really, really change the Cliniclip, Blade Ice, and Blade Oil packaging and I guarantee they will sell 5 times more then they are now. They look real bad in terms of design take a look at Andis Cool Care, Blade Oil, and Blade Care real nice and clean fonts designs etc just something to consider.

Yes you should be able to, no problem.

Good shaver but honestly the Andis lithium shavers stays charged longer and the foils don't break as easy.Gotta go with Andis on this one

how do i take apart a super shaver

When I got it out of the box after using it a few times it died out so I charged it for about an hour and it only lasted bout 30 seconds. Now when I charge it, it won't even turn on! Is there supposed to be a light on it when it's on charge? I've only have it for a day.... What do I do

Antonino Sarullo send it back but from what you said out of the box an you used it a few times did you charge it the correct amount of hours I believe it's to be charged for 8 or 12 hours before usage it's not a full charge when purchased.

Improve the foil. Its too thin and flimsy, it constantly ends up with holes. Also improve the battery life. I notice my red wahl 5 star shaver sometimes nicks the skin and it hurts, ive felt it on my skin amd clients have told me. Great shaver but can be improved, and i dont see why it hasnt yet, especially with everybody has the exact same problems with it. All in all it does the job and gets skin close

Hi Gene, Have you used the Finale shaver? This has an improved lithium-ion battery and an hanced cutter bar that reduces foil vibration. It is important to note that in order to get this skin close cut, these foils must be made in this style. A light touch should be used and the foils should never be pressed into the skin.

Wahlpro hello, I my 5 star shaver stopped working today. It started slowly losing power like usual, but after charging it, it was very weak and completely died within a few seconds. I bought it sometime in 2016 or 2017, i do not have the recipt or box anymore so I don't remember. Can I get it repaired or replaced? Its really going to affect my bussiness as this is the only shaver I own.

This will not cut down hair on a beard. You will need to sue a trimmer first to take the hair all the way down, then the Shaver will finish the job for you.

Make sure that you cutter bars are well oiled and in good condition. A dent or missing tooth in the cutter bar can cause harm to those you are cutting.
