Wagon Trail (1935) HARRY CAREY

Фильм және анимация

Stars: Harry Carey, Gertrude Messinger, Edward Norris
Director: Harry L. Fraser
Holding Clay Hartley's IOU's, Collins forces him to ride with his gang as they rob the stage. Clay is the only one caught and refusing to talk, is sentenced to hang because one of the Deputies was killed. But Collins knows he will eventually speak and makes plans to beak him out and kill him. But the Sheriff, Clay's father, luckily overhears the plans and hides Clay out while he goes after Collins.
Movie Class by PizzaFLIX: Harry Carey (1878-1947) began acting in 1910 to become one of Silent Film's earliest superstars and successfully transitioned into "talkies." He made 260 films and is best remembered as a cowboy. So much so, John Ford and John Wayne closed their iconic western THE SEARCHERS (1956) with a visual homage to Harry Carey.

Knew this was going to be a 'tear jerker' when seen Hairy Canary had a son in town. Great acting, should get an academy award, Great plots, him bad guy, me good guy. Start of a new movie: OK, Hairy, you ride up that hill, come down other side, don't talk too much, this is mostly action movie. Old John Wayne and Hairy were buddies and hatched from same brood, both brilliant, articulated conversationalists, John did a little Shakespeare, was fantastic in Romeo & Juliet.

They must have made several hundred westerns , I owned over 100 dvd movies all westerns and I still find more to watch like Johnny Mac Brown , Harry Carey that I haven't seen. Fun to watch a lot of the same actors play the bad guy in one then the good in the next. The deputy in this was the bad guy in several early John Wayne westerns. I see some of the same towns, sets, cabins, places in a lot of these westerns. Couldn't count all the westerns John Ford made in Monument Valley along with other producers.

He still made great cowboy movies! Oh and if you didn't know, he helped John Wayne with his cowboy career.

I normally prefer Harry in a darker role. Earl Dwire was his usual great self.

Any of you recognize Chief Thundercloud playing one of the bad guys? Played good and bad guy roles in a number of movies.
