Very nice, I only have 2 walls to paint and thinking of doing that with the cheap green ebay spray gun (2mm tip). I recently painted kitchen cabinets with it and got fantastic results! (Uploaded a video for anyone interested)

I had an idea for your new place, either your house or shop, that would make for an awesome video. How about spraying a front door with 2K? Either single stage or maybe even do something nutty like a candy paint job front door. I dunno, I think that'd be sweet, and it would maybe be a good longterm advertisement to show how well the paint holds up, and it would be way easier to clean and more hand oil resistant than most house paints for sure.

Actually looks like a decent sprayer for the money. Admittedly I've not sprayed a lot, though. I've heard great things about Harbor Freight's airless, in that the pump is very strong, you just need a new gun and new tips to make it a decent sprayer. As a pro painter oddly I've done very little new construction over the years and mostly am in occupied residential settings with furniture/etc, so I'm actually looking to get into HVLP stuff for cabinets with lacquer/etc where the doors can be taken off and shot off site. I like rolling more, but I've really contemplating getting a cheaper airless mainly for ceilings, in that ceilings kill my neck and shoulders if I'm doing them for hours on end, and ceilings don't have a lot to cut in usually. If you gotta do stuff in an occupied setting, I really recommend microfiber rollers, prewetted and spun out. I use Arroworthy 9/16" nap rollers, in 14" and 18" you can put down a ton of paint. Even with the 9s it's pretty easy to put down a whole 4x8' worth of paint in one paint dip. Finish quality is really great and it can look sprayed when done, it's a lot better than normal covers, especially cheapos.

I'd say that video isn't an exaggeration. I think from a time perspective you can get super close with microfiber rollers or possibly exceed spraying once you include setup/straining/cleanout time, which is why I never got into it for walls, but want one eventually for big new construction/empty rentals with new floors going in purposes. Also obviously for exterior but there's some argument that brushing exteriors is better as the paint gets into all the nooks and crannies/etc. I'm a little afraid of getting sued for overspray on a windy day for exterior use. :/ Sprayer dudes in painting generally control overspray by tip size and type, but again it's something I don't know enough about personally. But even with the little Wagner where you can't control pressure? you could look into different tips to help it out or possibly get a smoother finish on trim. From a speed perspective if you're doing primer or just want it all one color, I generally go with the Arroworthy "donut" 4" microfiber roller covers to cut the ceiling edges in, as they're fluffy on the ends and there's no plastic to scrape the wall like on a conventional roller and can get the corners well. Then you can sort of "brush" with them to not leave a run-mark or similar or use a brush on a pole with a dog-leg tool to quickly go around the whole room and knock it down a little. Then after that you can pretty easily prime the ceiling then walls (or use the same paint color like you did) with just the normal roller. Another huge equipment upgrade with 9s and 14s are Wooster roller cages with bearings, they're a lot smoother than the normal orange style HD ones. Same with the Wooster locking poles with quick releases vs the spin on tips, nice stuff that makes life easier, but it's hard sometimes for homeowners to justify spending the cash on.

Just a tip.... You should spray walls up & down, not left and right. You will notice as you walk along you are going up and down and you also shouldn't be stopping and starting on the wall as this creates build ups and also risk spitting on the wall as the gun starts & stops.. this is fixed by going up & down... (starting the trigger above, finishing past the bottom, then start and move up and off wall (making sure floor and ceiling protected correctly. Hope this helps.

I see in other vedio reviews that their machine leaked, what is the reason for that?

A room this size, this cuts time. Smaller areas, it's actually faster (and cheaper) just to roll it. The amount of time to set up and clean up should be accounted for. Plus, the real amount of overspray is significant if you are a little farther than the wall.

Yes it's really only worth it for freshly build rooms or houses where you have to mask nothing. If I had to mask everything off it probably wouldn't have been worth it

I did like 3 houses with this and it was awesome. 1 coat of off white over black trim and grey walls. Unfortunately my father in law borrowed it and when he cleaned it out he left water in the lines and it rotted out. Wonder how they work with stain I have a lot of fence to do.

Got everything ready to order just waiting on the weather. Not sanding a car in 20 degree weather 🤣 I think the contractors who remodeled my house used a sprayer. @@skliros9235 Mine I believe had a metal tubing inside the unit that rusted out. It was almost 20 years ago so I don't really remember. I know 1st i bought the wagner that is a spray gun with the paint container attached to the gun and it was a complete piece of crap. Had to water down the paint to over 50/50 to get it to spray out of the gun so I returned it and got this one. I think if you just blow all the air it it'll be fine.

Two questions. Does this sprayer have a filter in the gun handle? If so, what color is the filter? Can you install an extension onto the gun? Thanks...

I didn't notice a filter to be honest. And I'm sure you can buy an aftermarket hose for this gun and system on the internet just haven't checked

Just remember when your spraying out a a room or a house and you have new walls to do....use a decent undercoat first and backroll your undercoat to work it in....if you just leave it sprayed your paint will flake off the walls within a couple of years....Just a heads up guys👍

@@marztar I didn’t take it as he was saying he wanted to use this gun or paint on a car. Only if the skills using this gun could translate to an automotive specific HVLP application. Which the simple answer is kinda sorta but no not really.

Unfortunately now. Buy super cheap speedwall paint at home depot 60$ for 5 gallons as your basecoat / cover coat, then use your other paint as your final coat.

Can you please show us how you properly set up the nozzle? I have the same exact spray painter and when I spray it sprays thick lines along with it that start to drip down the wall like melting wax.

Your issue is a clogged nozzle. Remove nozzle, run under hot pressured water, try again. Remember latex paints clean right up water extremely easily. Be sure to flush the system for a minimum of 5 minutes when done with it

Yea you probably just got a small clog in it. Just remove tip and run hot water thro it. I had that same issue with mine a few times

@@DiamondsxRoses I just use one of this paint sprayers, when it got clogged (which happens very often) or it started to spray in drips or lines I learned to Twist the tip so the tip can face me, I sprayed ones; that will force paint to go through the big hole of the tip and unclogging it. don’t worry you won’t get you sprayed. Twist the tip back forward and continue spraying. It worked for me. Hopefully this make sense.

I have this sprayer but it WILL NOT spray latex out of the can. Have to thin it, then it runs. I paint cars for a living, so I know some about viscosity,mine is junk.

What about overspray? I used it on a bedroom and the overspray was horrendous. It got all over the floors and door trim, even though I taped it. I followed the directions, but it appeared you were holding the gun closer to the wall than what Wagner recommended. That, or I was holding it too far away.

Yea so the closer you hold the gun to the wall your spraying , the less overspray you usually get .

@@chrro466 I only used the spray tip it came with. It was my first time using a sprayer and apparently I couldn’t even read the directions right. I thought the sprayer wasn’t working, as I didn’t look at the manual to realize where the prime/spray setting knob was. I thought it was the tip. There isn’t a way to turn down the pressure is there, so it doesn’t spray so hard?

Spraying you will definitely use about 10-30% more paint but to be honest with how fast this method is, it saves so much time it's worth spending just a few extra bucks

Yea there's a host of aftermarket tips you can get for these if you want a more fine mist finish get a smaller tip , for better and fast coverage without much concern of finish , get the biggest tip possible

Primer Isant always nessisary. When color hide might be an issue that's usually when primer comes in. Going over drywall especially with a sprayer , a good paint and primer in one gets the job done
