Thanks for putting that together. Fantastic memories brought flooding back! Waggie was by far the best one on one finisher I've ever seen, wonderful player! he terrorised defences even though he hardly seemed to be trying half the time. Chilton was also superb, a brilliant centre forward. Waggie is 70 today so thanks for the memories!

I wonder what Waggy said to Charlie Wright.. lol.. What a team we had in those days... fond memories of those days.. meeting my mates in town before taking the train out to the ground, see the Tigers win and then pattie and chips on the way to catch the ferry. Many thanks for this post

Such wonderful memories. I went with my Step Grandad many times, he never missed the bus from Howden. I particularly remember taking my brother to a 3-3 with Cardiff and missing most of the goals because he needed the loo, also 1-1 with Man Utd in Watney Cup plus the great 2-2 with Chelsea in FA Cup & Waggy's goals being on the main news. Thank You so much, Waggy oh, Waggy oh, Waggy Waggy Waggy, oh oh oh.

As a Millwall fan, my first match was circa 1963 Millwall 5 Hull 1 but Hull won the return quite easily. Still remember that great forward line fronm the Mid-1960's including Chilton, Waggy and Ian Butler...:)

Waggy & Chillo; the best striking force never to play for England. I often see Mr Chilton in local shops and even approaching 70 he is still a formidably tall and imposing looking bloke; god knows how the defenders must have felt back then!

Thanks for the memories BL35. I was at every one of those games. Our lads were lethal weren't they? Wonderful! The snowy game near the end was amazing wasn't it?

At the turn of the century all clubs were polled for their greatest player. Only ONE player had the accolade of being chosen by TWO teams: Waggy of course, by Mansfield and Hull. He should've been guest of honour on Grandstand for that.

I think in the 65/66 season Hull City's forward line alone scored more than a 100 goals between them. Also seem to remember the Millwall home game being the title decider before a sell-out crowd.
