Truely one of the most under used heel character in 2010s of WWE loved Nexus faction. And again Badnews Barrette was also very underrated, Sad they let him go so soon.

He was injury prone. He kept getting injured when in the middle of pushes. That was his shortcoming.

@@cosman3248 He started getting injured well AFTER his initial big push, when they dropped the ball with him. Also, most of his injuries had short recovery times of like 5 weeks.

@@raveoreynolds6049 The guy couldn't stay healthy whenever he returned from injury. He always got injured within a month.

Fun fact,: The prize he won was that he was the first NXT contestant to receive entrance music. Also, the wind promo was the second promo Wade cut during that segment. They had to do a tie breaker round with him and Skip/Ryback. That's where Ryback decided to go in business for himself and ignore the topic.

He wasn't buried. He would then go on to lead two more heel factions, and win the IC belt multiple times. He also had a gimmick that was over with the fans. He always got injured before he got a major push which is why he never became a main eventer. But I agree he should have gone farther.

@@yinnacle9885 Except again he wasn't. He went on to be a solid mid card talent and even Barrett looks back at his experience with Cena in a positive light. It's not like he became a jobber who was rarely on tv. Now if you want to argue he was buried when he was BNB, then yes i will agree with you.

WWE are planning on a nexus return for a storyline around surviver series this year it may be around the summer 2024 I think Wade is part of it he has to be

Wade barrett still one of my favorites

Man, Barrett has been my favorite since that promo. I still think Wade has a good run left in him. Be it NXT 2.0 or a surprise Rumble appearance followed by a nicely built feud, he still should be the first-ever English World Champion in WWE history.

Somewhere, there's a time-line where, after that promo, Vince has a Vince moment, and Wade Barrett gets stuck with a kite gimmic.

I remember being at that NXT show in the O2 Arena, Barrett really showed his strength on the mic. The best thing Justin Gabriel did that day was make Matt Hardy fall off the ropes during his entrance.

I loved wade Barrett. The angle, instead of nexus, should have been wade vs the losers. During the intro question on this video, I immediately knew he was referring to the promo episode.

Wasn't that the segment in which Michael McGillicutty talked about not having a moustache despite clearly having one? 😂

Not gonna lie as a kid growing up next was such a fun show to me it's was something different to just predictable same script wrestling matches very entertaining for me indeed

That Chris Jericho part is so believable!

If Wade Barrett starts wrestling again he should win the NXT Championship just to make it full circle as he won the Season 1 NXT and then the NXT Championship.

Another "highlight" of that segment: Michael Tarver was given the topic of "itching". He choked and refused to talk. Then he randomly went up to insult the crowd after his time was up.

Unpopular opinion he should've won the 20013 royal rumble and faced punk at wrestlemania 29 for the wwe title and someone else should've faced taker cena and rock could've still had the rematch

I've seen that most "rookies" in WWE that were at the time CM Punk was, always have good words for him, actually one of the things Punk always hated from WWE was that veterans were very very powerful, and never give youngsters their own time to shine Even now in AEW hes tried to wrestle young guys so the more casual fans can watch them wrestle, I'm just pointing this out because I thought it was interesting

Flowers(in 2 secs) Could've just said "I will be the next WWE champion and anyone who challenge me will have flowers placed on their casket..isn't that right Undertaker??" The crowd will ooooh! (Of course like 9 cases of Jack D. would be sent over to Taker's house. Hopefully, that'll calm down the Heat....hopefully)

Maybe without the interference but I agree Wade would have been a perfect choice for ending The Streak IF they were dead set on ending it. My opinion is it should never have ended but if it must it should go to someone young, full of potential and honestly someone who's happy to always be a heel, like Wade.

I want to hear the Chris Jericho version of the story. That would be outlandish.

Do you think when people have bad news for wade they tell him they are afraid they've got some bad news?

This guy was pretty good, what a shame they instantly buried and killed the nexus. It probably wasn't that bad compared to today's product. Raw and Smackdown are unwatchable.

Imagine trying to cut a 30 second promo on a moustache. What you ginna do, start ripping into dutch who wasn't with wwe at that point?

Just goes to show how bad they screwed him up. Barrett took a shit segment and did the best he could with it.

The guy that got cereal and didnt pull a jedi mind trick on them immediately and talk about him being a serial killer of careers needed to be booted. As well as the guy who didnt do a cactus promo about flowers being used at valenteins day, weddings and funerals.

I can't believe 10 years ago I watched the rise and demise of the nexus. The corre was terrible tho lmao

Just think if he doesn’t have that “promo” n fails that challenge like everyone else…Nexus is never formed so you miss a good amount with that story n you might miss out on NXT becoming the breeding grounds it became with HHH creating new stars like The Shield n Bray Wyatt. I guess in a way Wade saved wrestling in a round about way
