"Part of the fun of raising chickens is the different breeds available with their unique personalities and feathers. A great way to get to know all of these breeds is to visit a poultry show or contact someone from the district where you live in the American Poultry Association at www.amerpoultryassn.com." ~ P. LOL the golden laced polish is crazy as usual. Love them!
Am i the only one that thinks chickens are some of the silliest critters? They walk cute, they sound so funny! I like talking to them. Pretty sure people think i’m weird. Someday, i will have a few of my own cute chickens!

nah no one would think your weird, they might just be jealous if htey see you talking to your chickens. they are great listnerers and they love to talk to you, my astrolorp likes to sit on my lap and talk to me. wish I knew what she was saying.
Phyllis would definately laugh at the comparison 😂
I just bought 12 polish the other day from an auction in Kentucky multiple colors all extraordinarily beautiful. 4 golden laced hens, 1 Golden laced rooster, 2 black with white crests, 1 solid white, 1 black with black crest with white accents, 1 Silver laced Rooster that’s tied with the golden laced rooster for being most beautiful other 2 youngins are solid black think one of those has like 4 golden feathers so ya basically all black. 1st time owning chickens myself & extremely happy carrying them all the way to the Crystal Coast of North Carolina about 8 miles from the beach. Yup takin Funky chickens to the beach lol 😂 42 yrs old makin me feel like a kid can’t deny it stupid happy & excited. The biggest rooster “golden laced” got overheated wasn’t sure he was going to make it. But a lil babying & 2 days later “today” he woke me up with his beautiful crow doing much much better after dipping him in a 5 gallon bucket of cool water to his chest twice took him inside for an hour in the ac after 2nd time really helped fingers still crossed tho!! & yea you bet I’m going to breed them best I can such beautiful colors I managed to get so happy & blessed. Also got 2 dozen roady red hens hoping to get one of my aunts Broody Silky mommas for excellent hatchings 💪🏽😇🤙🏽
They are just so beautiful and funny. It’s so amazing the conservation that’s all thanks to you. Thank you for sharing and educating us on these beautiful chickens. These created ones are just magnificently beautiful!!!
Believe it or not, visiting your chicken house is on my bucket list ❤️
Loved getting to learn more about these breeds. Always had many different types of chickens around our farm as a child, and I’m wanting to get my own flock going now that I’m retired. We are working on the henhouse now and plan to get chicks next spring! Awesome job sustaining these breeds for our children and grandchildren to know! 🙌💚🐔
Love this - Thank You for telling us about a few heritage breeds!! I would really enjoy seeing more breeds highlighted...
Beautiful birds! Thank you and your team for your conservation efforts.
The best videos around .
We just love your poultry videos! You have such a fantastic operation, and so many fascinating breeds. We'll watch as many videos about your birds as you choose to publish.

Lazy Bee Thank you. Please share on FB and wherever! :-) (To be honest... the Poultry videos don’t get near as many views as our others. We need to change that! Because we have lots of them.)
I love them all!
Love the chickens . So pretty
I would love to help with breeding to save the species. How do you get into it? Thanks! Yes, she is beautiful, just like Phyllis Diller was!
Try to say Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben 10 times really fast 🤣 lol

Well, that's awesome! It's certainly a beautiful bird.
I always enjoy your poultry videos. Please make more!
This video deserves a million views. I want to save those crevecoeur chickens!
Wow! Those are some gorgeous birds. I love it!
They are all so beautiful.
Didn’t dare grab the male polish! 😂
Hi. I have been watching you for years and just love all of your videos. I was just wondering if you are aware of a channel called Cog Hill Farm? (Alabama I think). Their 11 year old daughter is very much into rare bird breeds - chickens, ducks, geese. They also have peacock and an Emu. She seems to be extremely knowledgeable already and I thought under your virtual wing she might take it even further via your HPC. I would love too one day as well but in my township (suburbs not city) you have to have a full acre of land to have just 1 chicken. 5 acres for a goat. 💚
I had a white crested polish last year but a hawk killed her. broke myheart because she was one of my favorities and very trusting of me. I could pick her up with no fuss or muss. I still miss her.
I love the barn. Separate living Quarters for each breed.. I'm looking for acreage to have a farm this spring in central Arkansas
I love the Swiss chicken! So cute
I would love to have some of these !
I love chickens. In Holland the name for a chicken is (Kip🐓).
👍💟Very interesting!🥰
Crève-coeur meaning would be closer to heartbreaker or heartbreaking than broken heart.
I almost misidentified your last white silkie rooster as a Sultan.
I’m thinking of getting silkies for my grandkids.
Are spitzhaubens related to Hamburgs?? I have both and they are really similar.
Just like Phyllis Diller.....she could have made some funny jokes about that! I have a mixture of heritage breeds and a couple of hybrids. Would be nice to contribute to the conservancy effort. Maybe when I retire!
How do I help breed? I have black australorpes now. But would love to get into heritage breeding!
I would love to raise the Japanese Silkies - absolutely beautiful! But I am bummed out that our city now bans raising chickens because of the new developments in this country in the city area. I know this is a weird question but are there places that you can raise your own somehow?

Sherri Ianiro That’s such a shame! I’m not sure where you live, but yes... there are many shared community gardens within cities that allow poultry. Check to see if there are any of these community gardens in your area. You could also contact your local 4H or FFA group. Many have outstanding facilities and can be a wealth of knowledge on subjects like these within their regions. Good luck!

@@PAllenSmith Thank You Allen!
Could u send me a trio of the French afro fowl if it. No trouble? U mentioned u need breeders
I wouldn't term silkies as 'the best mothers in the chicken world'. Maybe they are best sitters, but certainly not the best mothers. They stay on the bottom of the pecking order, they are vulnerable to predators, they are poor foragers, they can't fly, they can at best cover eight chicks and I have never seen a mama silkie disciplining a chick. I am not sure if you have ever had Aseels, but in my experience Aseel hens are the best mothers in the chicken world. They are always on the top of the pecking order, a broody Aseel knows no relations even roosters don't mess with them, they are great foragers, they are fast and alert, but at the same time they are not flighty like leghorns. Aseels are an ancient breed of chickens and are recognised by the American Poultry Association, though according to APA rules they are not a heritage breed, but are listed as threatened by Livestock Conservancy.
They are all so beautiful.
